Apparently, since I woke up this morning, the server has become incredibly unstable, to the point where at times there's a 3-4 second delay in movement time. All of a sudden, I'm able to move fine, giving a false sense of security which leads to death thereafter. This certainly isn't the first incident, but has happened multiple times in the last several weeks.
I understand that it makes good business sense for Outspark to stipulate such a high penalty for death - 7%, which encourages high level players to purchase the 5% death pendants. 7% at high 8x takes around 20 minutes for me, and it makes good sense for me to purchase them. At the same time, it makes NO SENSE for us SC users to die and waste our money on these items due to problems on the server. In fact, over the course of the last couple of weeks, my biggest expense (and waste) have been on these pendants - mostly due to lag/freezing problems.
So having given the background story, what I suggest/propose is for the death penalty to be lowered to 1% until the server becomes more stable in the future, however long that will take. It's highly HIGHLY frustrating to high level players to die and it's very discouraging for us to pay the consequences for something that is not our fault. (Especially for archers/mages) In the long run, if this is not changed or fixed, it is detrimental to Outspark and to the community as players will begin to leave, simply because of this problem.
Please consider this and I'd like to open this up to other suggestions.

They should lower it regardless of the server's stability. at least down to 5%....preferably to 1% though

I couldn't agree with you more. The lag has killed me so much that reaching cleric is close to impossible by july.. I agree about lowering the death penalty. Might keep players here.

true, now adays i only die for lag problems, i've even been forced to stay away from areas with more players and sometimes AoErs
i belive in fiesta the penalty is really low, like 1% maybe they can make the same here, dun worry outspark, you ppl wont lose money for pendants, teh yellow egg spammer will make up for them =D
I am Black-Phoenix and I approve this suggestion.

What most players don't realize is that 90% of the time Lag is caused by your own internet server. I for one share my internet connection with 500+ people at one time. So when im playing solstice at 9 pm and 500+ other people are surfing the web it makes it pretty difficult to play at times.
For others its not the case. You can have your own internet connection and share it with just your family and no one else and still experience lag. If you have lag then, then its because of the game. That sometimes can't be helped. The worst lag is during events when lots of players are logged into the server at one time. A good suggestion to fixing this problem is having a new server opened up.
The death penalty of 7% will most likely never change no matter how much we want it to. It keeps stability in the game. It's good for lower levels who are trying to catch higher levels because the higher levels fear dying more. (since it is very hard to level up now-a-days) As for higher level players, I can't see a silver lining except to make you work hard.
If you are have alot of lag try deleting and uninstalling programs on your computer that you no longer need or use. Sometimes that helps. Also if you have lag, try reloging into the game to reduce the amount of lag at one time. Thats usually waht I have to do during events. good luck.

Lowering the penalty is always good, it's brutal to get 7% at lv47 when you are only allowed on for a hour per day.
About lag, when i start lagging too much, i just stop playing SoS and play Brawl on my Wii. I just wait for the server to clear up and go on again. Pretty simple, but effective.

actually Aeria Games are now publishing Pi Story.
I wouldn't blame a lack of GM's on a game that's in development anyway, since it's not Outspark that develop it, nor is it even the GM's job to develop.

outspark had a blog post that introduced a new game called Pi Story, however the blog post has disapeared now, maybe the developers saw Solstice XD j/k. either way, they lost it.

Hmmm... now i really had the thinking that Outsparks is not trying to solve problems and bugs in SOS. Why? More new games are coming out, yet no problems are fixed. Except some minor ones. Not those major issues like lag. And as Toru had said, adding of a new Server....but how long had it seems that this suggestion had been made and yet no ans from Outspark?
*PS: just a comment, dont say we these complainers like to complain, but its really a pain when you die out of stupid lame reason: lag (which is not player's fault (played other games and had not experience any lag except for events and also the numbers of players playing is a few times more than SOS)) while training your high level characters. For those who say us just a child who only know how to complain, try lvl your main char to 10x without stopping (as in stop griding and just login for events or chat). If any high lvl players out there (over LvL 90) said that lag while gridding is not a issue, i have no comments. *Peace*

O.o The Exp loss when dying is something that NEEDS to be "complained" about. Even at 5x it is an issue if you die a lot so I can't imagine what it is like for a 10x, It sucks to work for hours to get your 7% then lose it all because of server lag or one mistake.

I'm going to cut straight 2 the chase
When is the new server coming out?
It's idiotic to spend money making advertisement everywhere for a buggy, crowded, and close-minded game
while you could open a new server, actually listen to what we have to say, and attract more players.
Honesty I cannot refer this game to a friend because it's so flawed, and practically speaking a player with a real life friend in game will spend more sparkcash than one who does not.
It's frustrating for us because we are muted, it's hard for you guys because you have to struggle to make a profit, and I believe a change is due.
