View Full Version : Really that bad?

It's disappointing to hear that Archers are apparently inferior. I'm just playing for fun. I don't plan to dominate PvP or anything. If that's the case, is it fine to continue using an Archer? As long as I can "complete" the game (explore the entire world), I'm satisfied. Would I be able to do that?
Also, are they vastly inferior? Or are the differences only noticeable to hardcore players (which I'm not)? Also, I'd like to be at least remotely helpful in a party. For an Archer, would that be possible? I don't need to be the hero. I just want to be somewhat useful.
Thanks a lot.

Archers arent that bad. Iv never fought in PvP but each class has its ups and downs.
Clerics, for example: Yes, They can heal themselves and others, but their downfall is their low damage.
Arches, on the other hand, Have lower hp and defense. They also have some great AoE skills and the poison works wonderfully.
All the best parties Iv been in have had archers, You just need to figure out how You want to play (Seems you already have) and go from there.
Being an archer you Will be able to just have fun and explore, Some people just wish all the classes could pretty much do the same thing. They like to point out what one class has that another doesnt. That doesnt make them any better or any worse. The classes themselves are pretty well 'balanced' (as well as they can be, I would say).
(Im a little hungover so I hope that made sense)

Thanks for the quick reply. That made me feel better.

That's true. It's just that on the forums, I hear people mostly complaining about Archers, and I'm wondering why that is?

Since you asked about being remotely helpful in partied, this is what I can say. I find it fun and challenging playing as an archer , if you aren't easily depressed, disheartened and or angered that is. Socially you might see things that you won't when playing other classes after reaching lvl 60. I heard that a lvl 60 Mage can be rude and have attitude problems, but he'll still be welcomed to the party because he deals great damage. Whereas being an Archer at lvl 60, you don't do as much damage so you'll need to be good friends with people to get into a party. An alternative way is by duo-ing with a cleric all the way to the top.
