Fighter Sticking Up For Clerics

Ok what is happening here? Sorry Clerics i cud not find a way to create this thread generically.

WHY are players blaming Clerics for not healing or rezing them??? My main is a fighter and i have noticed in a party situation where we are all mobbed BIG TIME and some of us die, the Clerics get blamed. WHY???? they are trying their best, most of my friends are Clerics and they WISh they had not gone in as a Cleric and I can see why.

My main is a fighter and i have a level 27 Cleric and I can tell you now i do not want to develop her any further if this is the abuse she has to go through. Its not fair.

why cant players stop abusing Clerics cos frankly i damn well love them!!!

i was in kq the other day
and a fighter pulled 2 mobs and died
they blamed it on me not healing -.-

To be completely honest, I very rarely party, and when I do party, I make sure beforehand they are not so noobish as to blame everything that goes wrong on the cleric. If I end up making a mistake and they are... Well, let's just say that someone's going to be taking a dirt nap for a while.
As for any other time, it's the constant disrespect clerics get by many passerby. We are buff machines to many players, most notably anybody that will stand around town asking for a buff for three hours so they will feel safe fighting for one hour. Also to note those 'buff plz' spammers that will follow you the moment you catch their eye. And since there's no way the GMs will consider adding in a feature that clerics, the moment they learn Endure, will be able to be given the exact amount of copper an SP stone costs to the cleric and a little notice that _____ has paid for a buff (that will be refunded after 30 seconds if the game doesn't register _____ having endure cast on them), there's really no benefit for a cleric to contribute to the spamming by handing out buffs like that. Personally, no sentence = no buff. Punctuation or not, it's still more respect than the pseudo-command 'buff plz'.

And they blame us cause its

1. easy(since clerics are heal bots) :eek:
2. you cant blame archers ( they are blameless since they are broken)
3. you cant tell teh tank to tank ( cause they will often refuse too)
4. Mages die ( Sorry its a fact) :(

I hate it when ppl blame clerics for not healing or not keeping up the party alive...(but never experienced it before though, I barely party, and my clercs are great pros:p)

Anyhow, I take a moment of silence to honor all of you clerics that work so hard to keep out @sses alive as much as you can^^

The only time I "blame" a Cleric is when I'm spamming my stones/pots while no one else in the party is taking damage and the Cleric is off daydreaming or something. Yes, that will tick anyone off. I don't mind using stones cause I'm not about to risk letting my HP drop to dangerous levels. But if you are in a party, yes, heal the tank please. :) If you're lagging, say so.

That aside, it annoys me more than anything when a Fighter (or any other class for that matter) goes running into a mob expecting the Cleric to heal. This is mainly in KQs below Robo. I'm looking at their HP and they're not even using stones and depending solely on heals. If you have enough time to type "heal" then use that single key that heals your damn HP. xD

I agree, clerics in Fiesta do have a tough job. When you get a party of 3or more it can be hard, the range on Cleric skills doesnt help to much either. Ive noticed in low level KQ's specially that lowbies/newbs blame other for there mess ups. I for one feel bad for the clerics and I think that now more then ever is the reason they prefer to solo mobs rather then grab a party and level.

To all those clerics who do there job to the best of there abilities a take my hat off too you.

Im a cleric and i know the feeling *even tho i dont party much i mostly duo*, due to the reason i go through areas and see people screaming HEAL.. BUFF.. FFS ..BLAH ..BLAH. so im a party n00b if you want to call it that, and im happy knowing that...I gained my way through the game soloing and that fighter..archer..mage never got me there. But i have gotten to the point now in the game where i have to constantly sit on my donkey *missing my raccoon soo bad :(* you dare walk through eldy and you are hounded buff etc , and if you dont omg! the abuse you get..

Anyway, I wish more people will figure that it is not a right for them to be healed and/or buffed especially if they are not in your party. Jerks =/= no heal = death. xD

i must agree. clerics are the 2nd most abused class in the game. of course, they're abused by different people than the #1 most abused class (i.e. archers, who are abused by outspark who will not give us friggin ENTANGLEMENT!). anyway, im getting off topic. i agree, this has to stop. clerics dont have to heal you; feel blessed that they choose to. dont whine when you die; its not their fault.

Just want to mention that it can be hard to heal an aoe party from lvl 60 onwards cos the mobs hits harder at abyss and 99% of the time, there can be more than 2 person losing hp at the same time (if you can find a good spawn spot in abyss).

Cleric's current heal only reached 1.1k hp and to keep up with more than 2 person losing hp is ridiculous. Even with rejuvenate..it does have some risk in it.

Currently, i prefer solo or do some quests to lvl up...unless it is a guild aoe party, i may join because usually we will have 2 clerics in the party to make sure the risk of someone dies is lower to the minimum.

It is not the person who is playing cleric sux after lvl 60...it is the skills that cleric possess that make cleric look bad/lousy in an aoe party. 1.1k heal vs 1.6k t2 hp potion...our heal lost to a t2 potion? :rolleyes:

When I die in an aoe party, I always blame myself no matter what class I use.

Cleric - For not minding my own HP
DD - For being naturally squishy or pulling too many in a duo
Fighter - For pulling too many

But that's just me. xD

I very rarely would party with anybody who isn't in my guild. With my guildies a large portion of them have Blessing of Teva and are cool people. But since I have gotten better in my cleric skills I have gotten better where I don't worry so much about the other players. But I also make sure that they have Blessing of Teva so I wont feel to bad unless the loose some good scrolls.

I agree, clerics shouldn't be blamed for not healing!

For example, I was once in a party with people 2 or more lvls ahead of me, and I was the only cleric. So I died, because the monster that attacked me was strong for me. They said it was my fault because I was "in the way" and got killed. People shouldn't be so judgemental about clerics because they don't know how a cleric is like!*angry*

i love clerics *bat eyelashes*. oh yeah, some noobs blame clerics when they dont heal, and i'm like "hello people, there are 4 of us, n only 1 cleric. if u don't wanna die, don't go off chasing monsters on your own." such noobness.
and i dont forget to say tyvm whenever i get buffed, especially when i dont ask for it. i know very nice cleric people. as a fighter, i pay close attention to my clerics n make sure i take mobs off em. n i shout "don't let clerics die ppl. clerics die, we die."

I have SO many cleric friends in my list its unbelievable. I met my boyfriend on Fiesta whos a cleric and my best Fiesta mate - shes a cleric also. Dont get me wrong, I love all classes in Fiesta but clerics definitely I feel have the hardest job. I know there are some daydreaming clerics but the majority of clerics I have partied with have been so helpful. I feel SO bad if the cleric in my party dies. In poa, it annoys me when the monsters run over to the cleric when he/she heals, i try to keep mocking them away from the cleric as much as I can. Im like thinking to myself 'leave my cleric alone!!!' lol.

Wish that mock had a shorter cooldown.

lol cleric lvl very fast since there advantage in healing i guess from there advatage of healing they can lvl very fast besides that they are strong they take the stat points the same with most fighters either full end full strength or balance

I had almost the same experiance twice. I was in a Mara Quest with all these noobs and I was the second cleric there when lvl 19; The other could rez. Well what happened was that the other cleric that would rez was being careless and fighting along with everyone else, died twice and I couldn't rez her. People asked to rez her and told them I couldn't... well, you know how everyone reacted. We failed that mission BTW XD

The other time was (we failed this one too & still lvl 19) that I partied with the tank of the mara quest. The thing is, his def sucked so hard, that if he was hit once my mara, he'd be pwned. Well, every time he died, he blamed me for not healing him. I told him that there wasn't anything to heal because he died after one hit. Then he started complaining that he ran out of pots and stones. Like a good party member, I offered all 64 of mine, but rejected them like a butt hole... and blamed me some more even when someone offered him a def and vit scroll and rejected that too! :(

However, there's a good ending to this story-- I met a few more people who tank who always want me on their party and I love them very much for understanding how hard it is to be a cleric. I feel lucky that these people are usually online so they can always be in my party when I need them the most (my char has bad def and I need to be escorted everywhere XD).

Edit: I also don't feel like healing myself all the time either so that's another reason I need an escort. >_<

Some cleric are good some are bad. The bad ones will not heal you much and only look out for them selfs if you get one them kick them from party. The good clerics will heal lot an look out for the party not many of them about.

bah. cleric haters will never end. the only way they can abuse you is you let them abuse you. i personally have not experienced abuse on my noobie cleric as I try my very best to do my job and only get praised for it. I always praise my clerics on my fighter main unless they do an incredibly crap job (lure mobs and not healing but just atking when clearly they should be healing me who is tanking 10 mobs, but luckily these clerics are rare, only meet one or two in the noobie maps and in kq).

honestly though, clerics just need to really ignore the abusers, cause seriously, those idiots will probably abuse any class no matter what. i know those idiots yell at me for not taunting/mocking when i'm already devastating and mocking and taunting my little heart out. it isn't our fault our mock only attracts 5 mobs you know.

I have a cleric and this archer in my party was attacking a monster in kq. I was resting that time and she killed the monster and had like 100hp left and she was saying "heal ***?"
I mean, ***? I was RESTING, same with the other people I mean can't she even use 1 stone to heal herself? I mean if the monster had more hp then I bet she would have been dead. Lol I had a row with her because she was acting like a newb. Lol people these days can't even use like a single stone when clerics are resting or even when clerics are around.
I mean, clerics aren't slaves and we definitely shouldn't heal newbies like those.

Once there was this cleric that had died and he told me to heal him. But i couldn't find his body cause it was stuck in the ground. I found his body, reved him and then a few minutes later he called me a bad cleric. Lol i am a bad cleric sometimes cause i get distracted. Thanks for sticking up for us! You have to understand that when some people have lag, they cant talk, the game freezes up for a while and when its moves you and your party is dead o.O That is why i get cussed alot even though ill say before joining a party that my lag is terrible, they will say its fine, then when i lag and cant heal, they blame me for it :( and its not even my fault.

yesterday was doing GoldHill, lv30 at the time, on cleric, expected to spam heal an archer tanking, yet had higher hp by about 300 and about same defence, and i kept stealing aggro , yet im still suppose to keep archer alive....
Sure one class is starting to give clerics respect but non-clerics think of me as a leech, healbot, revbot and useless.
Im the cleric so surely i should decide what i do?
i Duo with mage friend and he understands that i cant heal 24-7 so he uses stones and dont mind, since i am mainly str build i hit not far behind what he does, even in kqs. So why should i waste my time healing someone that doesn't need it?

If im in dungeon of abyss with a party and there is only one cleric - and usually there should be two - I do not expect the cleric to constantly heal me the whole time because I know that cleric is under pressure to heal everyone including themselves AND try fight off the monsters that go for him/her healing. Also its vital that when the monsters go for the clerics while the cleric heals, someone should try get the goons away from the cleric so he/she can get back healing. Its hard stuff though.
