View Full Version : INT Fix?

I only managed to get my mage to 23 or so before CB2 closed, and from reading forums I noticed a lot of people saying how INT was broken during CB1. Just wondering if it got fixed at all in CB2? And if not, is it really worth getting much int at all, since at higher levels the damage boost won't even be noticeable?

Also, has anyone tried a mage build with high DEX? I think mages have second highest evade in game, next to archers, so would DEX eventually be useful for survivability?

I'd appreciate any response, but particularly from higher level mages with experience, since I can theorize well enough on my own =P.

Thanks in advance.

int was never really broken the damage increase was so little it wasn't worth it to get it so mages went for spr for the crit instead. as for a dex build i think ur only gimping urself in the end with lower crit and or damage but a good theory none the less

Vaxine, unless you've talked to a GM and they have told you that they're 100% the stats are fine, don't say it as fact. =]

As for DEX, useless for a mage as much as END. Mages do damage. They're not meant to be evasive or be tanks. ^^

never saying it was a fact just saying from my experience i don't think int was ever broken it's just the way stat's scale as u lvl them is way to low. thats my opinion like for pvp imo everyclass should just put all points into endurance and then stack gear according to there class u would do a little less damage but would have alot more survivability. this goes for archers and wiz also not just clerics and fighters

Lunelune - I don't expect my mage to tank lol, but my thought process went something like this:

Int adds a fixed amount of matk for every stat point, which becomes more and more useless at higher levels, finally becoming basically useless, so eventually, even if I made a pure INT mage, at some point I wouldn't be doing much more damage than a mage without any points in INT, therefore I would have wasted all my stat points. However, since SPR and DEX raise crit and dodge by percentages, theoretically they would be useful no matter how high your level gets. Of course, as I said, I only managed to get to 23 with my mage, so this is all speculation on my part.

Vaxine, the reason why people wouldn't normally stack up endurance in PVP is because it'd be completely useless when you can't do ANY damage whatsoever, EVEN with the bonus damage that you'd get from equipments. You can only survive for so long when your opponent is dishing out massive damage. A good PVP build requires strategy and also knowing your enemy too.

As for DEX, it wouldn't be necessary for a mage because mages aren't meant for dodging or surviving hits. They're known as "glass or ice cannons" because their main purpose is to blast out a large amount of damage. If their points in INT or SPR are placed elsewhere, then this decreases the damage/crits that a mage can produce correct? Which is why adding DEX deters the character from being able to bring out as much damage that it's fully capable enough to create.

Full INT would be pointless as you've stated, but a healthy mix of SPR and INT would prove to be far more useful. Typically you want to focus on TWO stats because it helps focus your character on a certain type of build or goal for it to reach. Three stats are typically one too many and causes your character to lose its fullest potential in being a healer or even a tanker.

In the higher levels, your points become more and more valuable as they are hard to get, which is why it's important to allocate them in the right place and amount. ^^

It's far more useful for an archer to use DEX because they need that evasion in order to stay alive and bring out the damage they have. Of course DEX would work with either STR or SPR for an archer, depending on what kind of archer they'd like to be.

BUT! A few sprinkles of a third stat could be healthy~ It just depends on what role you'd like to play in a MMORPG... If you'd like to party, go on KQs, solo, or PVP.

first off the pvp in this game is based off teamwork and and someone who does a little less damage then the other person but has alot more survivability is a stronger link in the chain when the game based on guild pvp its like that for any game ok so u can do alot of damage u wont do near enough to kill a full end warrior with a shield and sword it's like this with anygame ill use wow as en example everyone stacks stam and reselience which reduces damage u take it's the only way for pvp unless ur a class that kites.
