What to get AP or "+" items?

Like the title say what should i get AP or "+" items? also whats the difference between a "defense point" and the shield points that the item already have, shield and defense is the same? work the same way for weapons? just a few questions since i dont know what to get for my scout!

Also, which items from the sos shop you would recommend me to get for my scout? (i have 140k+ sparkcash at the moment so i dont mind to spend it)

I personally go for the AP gears, because you can always get Xens to add the +1 or more to the good gear. (+4 or +6AP is all I would bother with trying to enhance with a Xen... the other gears just don't seem as worth it to me.)

Not sure about the shield stuff, since I never really paid close attention to the shields stats.

Cloak of Love is a great cash item- boosts your defense even more, and almost a necessity if you are going to AoE... but since you are a scout, you really don't have to worry about being hit as much as us Neo's do. Also alot of scouts and rogues like to use the Horror masks and Moonlight Goggles.

Since you are a scout, you really don't have the option of a cashstore weapon, which kinda bites.

Could always burn off some of that cash on bigger potions, revivals, and exp boosters. And, the higher level you get, the more helpful that Anti-Death pendant is! Just note that the pendants DO NOT stack- say if you equip a 5% cash pendant and two of the 1% pendants from the general store- when you die, it will only use the 5% pendant. Die again, and it will only use one of the 1% pendants. You will still get a death penalty, even tho you have enough equipped items to completely negate the exp loss.
(Still much easier to gain back 2% rather than 7% after you die, IMO)

It's the same. Just add the defense point to the shield point and that's the total bonus you get.

For example,
Let's say you have an armor with 4ap. The armor description says it has 25 shield. So 25 shield + 4 ap = 29 shield. Basically the higher the ap, the more expensive the item gets.

Yeah, also, when you get to equip better armor, you can sell the ap gear for more than a +1 or +2. Heck....even at times, if you have enough ap on your gear, it may still be stronger than the next tier of gear.
