hey i was just wondering will the game client be released befor closed beta starts as it may take some time to download and we would be wastting time waiting for it lol

well i hope you do quite alot of mirrors also as everyone will be downloading at the same time and it will be uberly slow :P

Nice thing that you came up with this.
I think the client should be avalibe 2-3 days before the CB actually starts, so everyone can get it with no problem, and the DL servers won't get too many traffic at once.

yea they should but myn will dowload within the hour probably less i have a fast internet connection and nice computer(just thought id brag =] lol j/k)
but im sure they will have some way of making sure the downloads go smoothly

Wolfice, if you don't download it, you can't play it. It needs a client (your computer) side program so it's not streaming 3GB worrth of sounds and graphics. Then you would realise just how badly your connection sucks...


Coalsax, that's a good theory. But I know that as soon as I get the link, I'm downloading. Maybe some of the bigger guilds can arrange to get it at the same time.

of coarse obt is probably a better time for stress testsing now that i think of it. and i wonder if their isnt a more secure way to get the client to us? all it would take is one person to leak the link and all heck would break loose.

Personally they are pretty silly to not release the client a day or preferably 2 days before CB starts. Everyone is going to be whining they cannot dl it due to timeouts and stuff.

According to one of the staff (I forget where it was posted) it will be made avalible before the Beta starts. So I'm expecting it in the next 14/15 hours.

Think about it, they're probably still working on the game, they don't want to release a version then have to release a patch 1 day later.
