TEVA players please read!

There have been a few reports across all servers of players losing their accounts to others. This is purely due to players handing over their account details to another player for goods and services offered – in this instance, sparkcash for gold.

THIS IS A SCAM.

I am not sure how I can make this statement any more clearly. Perhaps this will help:



* Sparkcash for Gold scams: Any transaction which requires a player to share personal account information with another player is a direct violation of the Terms of Service. Account security and management falls solely upon the responsibility of the user. Remember, Outspark staff or representatives of Outspark (GL’s, CL’s, CSR's etc.) will NEVER ask you for your password. If someone does, report them, with screenshots, to Fiesta_Help immediately. If you choose to accept this offer and subsequently lose control of your account it will be permanently deleted and you may be subject to infractions including, but not limited to, the full termination of your account.

Outspark will no longer be responsible for any restorations of accounts, characters or items which fall within these aforementioned issues. To put it plainly, if you choose to give something away, whether it be your sword or your account then it may be irreplaceable.

Please note that if you give your account info to anyone for any reason and you lose control (i.e. they change your password) the account will not be recovered.

No, a report will NOT get you’re your account back. No, a ticket to a CSR will not resurrect your account. The ONLY thing that can save your account is NOT to give your account info to anyone in the first place.

Remember also that you are entirely responsible for the security of your account. This means if you step away and your little sister/brother gets on while you’re making yourself a snack and somehow deletes everything or gives your account away it will be lost permanently.

One final attempt for the sake of clarity: If you give your account info out to ANYONE for ANY REASON you WILL lose your account. Gone. Finito. Da svidaniya. Sayonara. Bye Bye. See ya!

Remember, OutSpark staff and CLs will NEVER ask you for your password or logon info at any time. Firstly, we CLs have nothing to do with in-game issues so there is no need. Secondly, all a GM needs to access your account is a character name and server. If they do, for any reason, require additional info they will NOT ask for it in-game, but here.

Why would anyone give out thier information? You never know who you are talking to, unless you've met them in real life, or if they are friends of yours in real life. I think it is just unsafe, to give out your information, its foolish, because, yes, some people may just want it to help, but, i'm guessing more people dont want to help at all, they just want to get your information, whether it be your name, age, password, email address, or anything else that is yours. I think that no matter how nice someone sounds, or is, in the game, your information should remain yours, no matter what. Thats just what i think.

Yep. I had either some kid who is too stupid to know better, or some scammer who thought I was too stupid to know better. He wanted to give me his login info so I could "buy" a permanent outfit for him. :rolleyes:

First he used the "too young to have a CC line, then he used a "I live in a foreign country and it isn't US currency" followed by spamming with please....

ya my account got deleted i worked so hard on that account and no one knew my pass except for my friend who doesnt even play this game. And i know he didnt do it. After grinding so hard to reach 70 now my account gets deleted. I have so many mix emotions right now i dont even know wat to do or say. One thing i dont get though is why have a delete option for ur character. I mean if the person who deleted my account hacked all my money i wouldnt mind that much because i would still have my account and work for that money instead of just lossing my account.

Just a warning so that hopefully you won't go throught the agonising heartbreak my young son is at present.
A character named Benjaminqwas came up and whispered him asking if he wanted to trade accounts.
My son said no and went on his way. HE DID NOT GIVE OUT ANY DETAILS ABOUT HIS ACCOUNT!

This morning when my son went to log in he got a "Multiple connections detected" message. He later tried again and got "Invalid Password".

His characters are
Spartan_____117 (Lvl53 Fighter)
The_Chief (Lvl31 Archer)
Mannimarco (Lvl27 Mage)
XxMaster_ChiefxX. (Lvl54 Cleric)

He created a new account to play and soon noticed his main character, (Spartan_____117), go past him. He spoke to him and the following is the end of a conversation that was taking place between them when I got home.

I later logged onto my account and spent ages pursuing the thief asking him to give the stolen account back. He was selling my son's enhanced weapons, (on my son's account), and kept switching characters to try to avoid me.

I contacted a GM and they said "Send an email and we will get back to you".
By the time I hear from them my son's stuff will all have been sold and his characters deleted.

The thief did say he would give the account back IF I let him keep my son's +7 Hammer.

If anyone asks you to trade accounts CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY!
I don't know how they do it, (possibly by using a "Keylogger" or similar), but several people have been asked so this is some new scam going around Fiesta.

I HAD NOT tried earlier, DID NOT EVEN SEE THE PERSON, NEITHER MY FAMILY OR MYSELF GAVE OUT OUR DETAILS, so this was recieved before I went to change it.
My son then checked his email and found he did even get an email regarding the changing of his password. The other account had 1 but it had not been opened.

I'm glad you found it amusing and you can get the drift of what the conversation is saying.

I kept shouting in Elderine, and everywhere else I followed the lowlife, BECAUSE the person was on my son's account setting up a vendor to sell all our stuff.
I was following him around, and making him shift, asking him to give it back while I tried to find a way to get in touch with a GM. I was also hoping to alert people, especially his guildies and friends, that it was not my son on his characters.

If all your information here is complete, then now I started to think there is something fishy going around here.
If the scammer can get into the account without knowing the account information (by keylogger or something), then obviously he could have done so even without asking to trade account. If the scammer cannot, then you should not lose the account.
The only possible explanation is that the scammer need to get an answer to his offer so that he can hack the account (this sound illogical but it might be the case involving encryption scheme). Due to the fact that I only see "I'm hacked!" thread in only Teva server, I started to think this might be due to the recent server switch.
It is possible that the new server Teva have been manipulated by someone even before the switch, making a security loophole that allowed account information stored on the server to be hacked later.
Therefore, I urge the anyone who is in charge of security to make a throughout scan on the server for possible backdoor. I would also like to see better security protection method, which I don't think have been around:
1. 2 tier password: normal password that allow only to login, which master password allow to change password information.
2. Password reverse: when the password is changed, the user will be notified, and the password will not change immediately. The user have the option to cancel the password change, doing so will automatically lock the account so that the user have time to notified the CSR if someone else have changed the password without his knowledge for further investigation.
3. Temporary lock: after 3 times of failed login due to wrong password, lock the account for an extended period, where all login request will be deemed as "wrong password", even if the correct one is supplied.
4. Storage password: put the password on the storage to avoid extreme lost of object.
5. Timed deletion: when account or character get deleted, the user will be notified and the account or character does not get deleted immediately. Options to cancel deletion is possible.

Suggestion 2, 5 assume that there will be a method for Outspark to communicate with the user, however as it is now, email address can be changed, allowed a hacker to nullified the method.

Sometimes, imo, the account hacks are worse than sharing the accounts. Not sure if account h4x occur here, but they sure have in other MMOs I've been a part of. It's really, really sad u_u.

Like I said "My son gave his details to NOBODY and neither did I", BUT our family had 2 accounts stolen and they tried to get mine.
ALL we were doing was playing our accounts (and saying no when whispered asking if we wanted to trade accounts or wanted SparkCash).

Sadly a lot of children, whose parents won't or can't afford to, purchase SparkCash and, because children are trusting by nature, these lowlifes have found another way to take advantage of this.

You do NOT have to tell them anything to lose your account!

I know all about the gold scamming first hand. Before the GM's and CL's started posting about it i baught gold from a website (not knowing it was against rules). I was kept in jail for four days, it wasnt pleasnt. So trust me when I say this, DONT BUY GOLD, or you will be sent to jail or banned.

Seriously, I'm not going to say sharing accounts is stupid, BUT, sharing accounts with someone we don't even know in real life, it's seriously dumm...
I mean, let's say i shared an account with a classmate or a related...Even if something happened, i could always confront them face to face. But with someone on the other side of the world..they can simply and easily dodge us..

Just make your friends accept 1 gift for week and not wanting all at once and tell them to dedicate to grinding by themselves. Thats my opinion. And thanks to the GM..

Getting hacked FAILS miserably. ._. There is one person on my 'To Die' List, and that is my hubby's hacker.

My 'hubby' (it wasn't acctually him. D: ) logged onto Fiesta. I whispered him, saying he hadn't been on for ages, that I'd missed him, y'know. The usual hubby-wifey stuff. ^//^
Then he deleted me, blocked me on all of his L337 characters and left all of his guilds. I found that strange, so I asked him about it on Xfire, and he said yes, he had got hacked. D: And he couldn't be bothered to get his chars back up to 7x (this was back at 79 cap), so there his Fiesta life ended. ._.
I wish I had gotten screenies, because a few days later, I saw his Mage run past me on a raccoon mount (or something like that o.o)...so I don't acctualy know what happened, 'cept my hubby's friend (he plays Fiesta too) says the Hacker plays the Mage alot............. D: And now I'm sad. T^T

It's depressing how some people can't play a game without having to cheat. It's different if you play a normal RPG, but when it comes to MMORPG, it's theft. You're stealing something that belongs to OS. And so, neccesarily, hackers could go to jail. Especially if their IP address was found out. Then they're screwed. And it's not for the police to find out that kind of information. I hope all the scammers and hackers and such out there learn that they're taking a huge risk for a small reward. An 'IRL' risk.

i have been hacked 3 times now the first time they moved my main character Marlo_Marcuso Cleric lvl 63 from my account stripped him and deleted him i was highly devastated lol excuse the pun. any way i had 3 alts a noob cleric my first fighter and a mage... after about 3 months of hard playing i managed to get my character to a respectable lvl again. one day i received a multiple log on detected message and was kicked out of fiesta i immediately knew i was being hacked again. i thus kept logging on to make sure they couldn't delete my character and they kept on re logging kicking me off. after about 20 minutes i managed to change my password and the hacking stopped. So now i knew they had my details i then changed my password again making it Nigh impossible and changed my email address. I even went as far as to never type in my password i just copy paste it. after playing one night with a friend at grinding my mage i left my screen on character select and dropped him off at home when i returned 15 min later my screen said multiple log on detected, this is when my heart dropped i logged in and all my characters were deleted. this was the 25th of feb and now to date i have lost, Marlo_Marcuso 63, Erimarcu Fighter 63, LordNightroad Mage 56, SirBroadHammer cleric 54 and LordNightroadII Archer 30 you can tell i have been playing this game and love this game but if a malicious player can just hack my account and delete my characters then what safety is there in fiesta. PS i had spent ALOT on SC and well thats all a waste.All i need to know is why they can allow this to happen? and how can they prevent it in the future? PS CSR still waiting for my tickets pls...

HI i think frozen has it right, please next time you log in try using "frozenraskovik"(Use own alias) as username and normal password and see you log in... this means that with a small program they can run a password cracker with ANYONE'S account that posts in forum... so where after 3 tries it locks the account is perfect.LETS KILL HACKERS...

There have been a few reports across all servers of players losing their accounts to others. This is purely due to players handing over their account details to another player for goods and services offered – in this instance, sparkcash for gold.

Please note that if you give your account info to anyone for any reason and you lose control (i.e. they change your password) the account will not be recovered.

No, a report will NOT get you’re your account back. No, a ticket to a CSR will not resurrect your account. The ONLY thing that can save your account is NOT to give your account info to anyone in the first place.

Remember also that you are entirely responsible for the security of your account. This means if you step away and your little sister/brother gets on while you’re making yourself a snack and somehow deletes everything or gives your account away it will be lost permanently.

One final attempt for the sake of clarity: If you give your account info out to ANYONE for ANY REASON you WILL lose your account. Gone. Finito. Da svidaniya. Sayonara. Bye Bye. See ya!

Remember, OutSpark staff and CLs will NEVER ask you for your password or logon info at any time. Firstly, we CLs have nothing to do with in-game issues so there is no need. Secondly, all a GM needs to access your account is a character name and server. If they do, for any reason, require additional info they will NOT ask for it in-game, but here.

Hi

I spent a while talking to someone and they asked for my email addy so we could use yahoo to talk. As soon as I gave him my email addy he managed to hack into my account and reset my Fiesta password. Then he stole my account. I managed to change it back.
This went on for 2 days until I terminated my email addy.
I haven't lost my account just a few items and some gold. But I seriously didn't know that you could lose everything just by allowing a person to know your email address.
My main concern was my banking details. I managed to change my email to a non browser and all my correspondance except for Outspark. They will not accept a new email addy! My bank/credit card and paypal have accepted my new email address.
I have learnt a lesson the hard way.
People are forever saying don't give out your password which I have never done but just an email addy is all they need. Incidentially the person that hacked me is very well known on Fiesta and still plays daily. It's so annoying to know that he may be doing this to others and I can do nothing about it!
