question about magic ice

hi, about this magic ice spell. the higher lvl the more damage you do? why do we even use higher lvl magic ice since this is only a support spell? higher lvl spell doesn't last longer or slower

Um, yea I think that's how it goes. Well, the stronger it is, the more probability that you can ice a monster in a very high lvl map. It's really useful if your trying to run or if you don't wanna get hit while attacking the monster. Practically a Magician's favorite slowing spell ;)

ONLY a support spell? Rubbish! It's a GREAT spell ~ Become one with the spell! It'll save your bum in a pinch! We're squishies... but that doesn't mean we must be squishied!

what i mean is u don't use them for damage, the time is only 6sec and it use more mp. now i understand u can't slow mob that's higher lvl with low lvl magic ice. Well, thanks for the info~

Oh, totally! Magic Ice is most certainly NOT going to be your go-to spell for killing blow! (Although, on many occasions my Magic Ice has done that.. xD) But do intend on keepin' this spell levelled up!

Naaah, my comment was not meant to insult you or your question... The PLAYER is what makes the difference. I generally, do not pay attention to what a skill costs in MP ~ but more so, on making damn sure the mob won't get a chance to smack me in mah face!! (If I can help it!)

Fully embrace the class you choose to play... and play the class well! Even with its drawbacks.. Once you see past them.. Mage can be a loverly, powerful thing!

Another important thing about magic ice.. If your damage is not high enough, high lvl mobs wont slow down.. That is why pure int players have extra upper hand at high level map.. As long as you don't go to high level map, any build will do to slow the mobs down..

The effect of magic depends on damage (int) and level of the skill.. You would want to slow the mob as possible.. You can test many level of ice and see the effect..

Well, Magic Ice is a useful skill, but... Even though you get higher lvl skills of it, it only works sometimes. Magic Ice runs out sometimes too. I think Mages should get more DEF!!!!!! really. :D

If Magic Ice doesn't work all the time in the map you're training at, go train somewhere else 'cuz it means you don't do enough damage to them. And just recast magic ice when it's about to wear off. (recasting it when the monster is with half hp is good)

huh i had full int untill i got lv 3 ice and lv 2 nvr worked in loren :o

Maybe your staff was lame one.. haha lol..

Anyway, if your magic ice doesn't work, that shows that you did not do enough damage to them and probably the level of the mob is too high for you.. It is like lvl 50 trying to magic ice lvl 100 who has 200+ def.. lol :rolleyes:

Hrmmm... I'd have to agree.. Although, if I remember correctly, Anime.. You were pretty good about keeping a great ++++ staff handy... No idea WHY your Magic Ice wouldn't have been effective in Loren... ESPECIALLY with INT pumped up!?!?

Alls I have to say is my Magic Ice rocked out loud on those maps... PRE-Mage! I've never had issues with it.

xD na my staff always sucked i nvr cared about good gears and such till i saw a mage aoe loren:D even as mage my staff still not supercharged xD int staff is my first 6ap and i still havent xened it im more into investing in def ^^ and going for speedy cast over a lil more dmg and missing all the time.in fact me going to loren as app wit full int is what made me go for men build as i missed way to much in high lv mobs. 21 men ftw

*and fyi if u only have lv 2 ice u shouldnt b in loren anyway i dunt care how great yer staff is D:as i promise it will take forever to get that lil more xp even with big party i gurentee ya someones gonna have a bad day. north eir and alicia is where under 56 should go i mean there blood red in rud at that lv O_o honestly 60+ is ideal lv for loren even then still under lved >.>*fast kill beats suicide map anyday ^^.

Well I started going to Loren at lv 52 (always going with party until lv 60, of course O.o). Magic Ice didn't work everytime, but I just had to wait for someone else to hit the monster a few times before trying to slow it...
My Ice worked everytime when I hit lv 54... I remember I tried to solo there when I got new staff, Ice worked all the time, but when I saw I could get killed in 3-5 hits I gave up and went to Blackheart's Lair instead... XD
