Scamming, scammers and you: Outspark’s official stance:
Due to the recent surge of player complaints regarding various types of in-game scams, Outspark has decided to make an official statement in regards to this activity.

* Enhancement Scams: Players are no longer allowed to advertise enhancement services to other players at any time. If you choose to accept the advertised offer please understand you do so at your own risk; Broken, lost and/or stolen items will no longer be replaceable.

* Vendoring Scams: If you discover a vendor falsely advertising items (scrolls, weapons, etc.) they should be reported, with screenshots, to Fiesta_Help. Please understand a vendor has the right to set any price for any item he/she desires; it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure the sale is what they want prior to making the purchase. This particular scam comes into effect when a vendor advertises, for example, a Vitality Production scroll for a certain price but in actuality is selling Vitality skill scrolls for said price. If you come across a vendor you believe falls under this example please report them. All sales are final, so again, be aware of what you are buying before completing the purchase.

Remember, SparkCash items MAY NOT be traded or sold. Such attempted sales should be reported.

* Sparkcash for Gold scams: Any transaction which requires a player to share personal account information with another player is a direct violation of the Terms of Service. Account security and management falls solely upon the responsibility of the user. Remember, Outspark staff or representatives of Outspark (GL’s, CL’s, CSR's etc.) will NEVER ask you for your password. If someone does, report them, with screenshots, to Fiesta_Help immediately. If you choose to accept this offer and subsequently lose control of your account it will be permanently deleted and you may be subject to infractions including, but not limited to, the full termination of your account.

Outspark will no longer be responsible for any restorations of accounts, characters or items which fall within these aforementioned issues. To put it plainly, if you choose to give something away, whether it be your sword or your account then it may be irreplaceable.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team (http://support.outspark.com/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=submit) and they will be happy to explain these important rules.

Sorry seems you're out of luck >.<

That happened to me, too. Two people claimed to be using Eyes to do upgrades; one wouldn't respond to me and the other assured me that he could do it. I trusted that someone with a rare Lv30 hammer I obtained, the stones necessary to upgrade, and 30 silver. After he told me it failed, he then said he'd sell me a regular Lv 30 hammer for an additional 30s. I don't think I can ever trust people with my gear again.

Well, you learned the hard way. If you want your items enhanced, I suggest you enhance them yourself.

Haha I've had the exact opposite.
Some dude didn't wanna pay me in full for doing t2 enhancements cause I didn't go to +9, when I didn't promise a +9, cause I ran out of eyes.

I set him straight, let me tell you.

Well, I used to enhance for people when I was still active. (before all this posting of not being able to advertise enhancement.)

I had 1 time where the game bugged out at +8 (using red/blues) and my item poofed. I told the person it happened, went and bought them a new weapon of equal or greater stats, and got THAT one up to +9 for them. at no extra cost.

All I can say is, be careful who you have enhance for you. Some guy offering to enhance for 30s is probably a nub who is just trying to scam. No enhancer in their right mind would enhance something for 30s. It's just not worth it. Unless you don't pay for your own Sparkcash and don't care.

We walk a fine line here.

On the one hand, we want this to be a valuable lesson to those that would entrust others with their stuff without having just cause to do so. Who are careless and don't read the hundreds of warnings out there.

On the other, as we laugh at this poor guy who got duped out of his gear, do we encourage others to attempt the scam knowing that there is no recourse and that any reporting will be brushed away with a scoff and wave of the hand.

While it is very likely that Piercing_Blood will never see his precious item or money again, that should be his punishment. Not being forced to face public chastisement for it.

A little compassion might be what we need. The lesson will still be learned, but without turning the duped into the next scammer under the pretense that you can get away with whatever you want against the new guys...

Also, something I see a lot has been sort of bugging me lately. Maybe someone can help me out with this.

Is there any rule during the installation or download EUA that states that players are required to use the forums? I didn't see one, but I have a bad habit of skimming those for anything glaringly obvious and then continuing on.

The reason I ask is because I see a lot of people hammering 5-post-ghosts that have only recently discovered the forums (usually because something bad has happened) only to be turned away because they didn't read something that was on the forums.

Now if there is a rule that "all rules will be posted on the forums", then I will eat my crow here, but if not, I really think it unfair to hammer a new guy for not reading the forums when no aspect of the game requires you to read the forums.

Perhaps I'm as foolish as all the other new guys, since I didn't start reading the forums until a full month after I began playing...

Still, something to think about
