Aerythia here, current GM of Holy_VanGuards and bored capped person :p. With new rumours placing cap raise in August, and nothing for us to do but try and fail ToH for the millionth time, I wondered if people would be interested in player organised and led events, solely for capped people. I repeat, this would be ONLY FOR CAPPED PEOPLE :D.
I've been running a bunch of events for HV in the last few months, and they've enjoyed them (I hope! ^^;;), and it simply led me to wonder whether I could run the same events for those of us that are capped and fed up. I can't promise any prizes, I don't have anything rare enough, or enough money, but I can offer simply a lot of fun, and in some cases honour and glory ^^.
If you are wondering about what sort of events I have run, here are two recent ones I have done for Holy_VanGuards.
Holy_VanGuards Event - Scavenger Hunt List.
You have 1hour to complete this, OR it is finished when one team declares they have all the items sorted. However, should a team declare, therefore stopping the other teams from collecting further items, and it turns out that team does not have something for every item on this list, that team will be docked 20 points. So no false declaring :p.
Note – ONE person will act as spokesperson for your team. They will be the ONLY ONE to contact me to avoid anarchy.
These items are worth 1 point each. Display them via shop mode when you have them, in Elderine arena, alert my presence so I can mark them off your list.
1. 17 Intact Bones.
2. 23 Old Spirit Dusts.
3. 8 Premium Leathers.
4. 1 Apple (I’m hungry).
5. 21 Ramsear.
6. 10 Firewood.
7. 7 Starfish.
8. 10 Sand Hill Scrolls.
9. 3 Herb Roots.
10. A ZK ring with any stats.
These items are worth 3 points each.
1. 3 Golden Bugs (the ones you find in Golden Hill KQ).
2. 2 Marigolds.
3. A King Marlone Hammer or Mace.
4. 5 HQ Gold Ores.
5. A Shining or Brave Ring of Roumen.
These items are worth 5 points each. Except for number 5, all these people must not be members of your team OR a VanGuard/Holy_VanGuard. The same person may not be used by more than one team, no passing the same Cleric with a blue ponytail around all the groups ^^;;.
1. A Cleric with a blue ponytail (so can be a guy or a girl!).
2. A Mage with the “Monster Joke Punchline” title.
3. A level 17 Archer (must party with me to prove level).
4. A Fighter with a +9 GGK Axe (show me in trade so I know it’s not a level 50 Pole Axe).
5. A member of your team wearing armor from 3 different level armor sets, i.e. level 24 boots, level 38 pants, level 50 chestpiece. HAT does not count because I can’t see it!
These items are worth 7 points each and will only be given to the team who “wins” the item. In the event of a tie, both teams will get points.
1. The highest enhanced level 2 boots for any class you can find.
2. A level 30 chestpiece with the highest total amount of stats possible.
3. The highest cumulative total of chocolates (from the Valentines quests).
4. The worst/lowest possible statted pair of level 78 pants (not NPC though).
5. The person with the most possible buffs, shown by a status icon when you click on them. The person who attempts this doesn’t have to be a member of your team.
AND
Extreme Escort the Messenger Event!
When? June 21st, at 9pm GMT/4pm EST/1pm PST. We will need 15-30mins to set up teams and switch Guilds etc, so please be prompt to avoid boredom and time wasting.
Where? Meeting at Echo Cave Entrance in Forest of Tides.
What? There’s an important message to be delivered… however, some “bright spark” decided that to keep it safe, he would split this message up and spread it all across Isya. Someone sack him please stupid idiot! Anyway, you’ve got to collect this message, decode and put the words back in order, then deliver to Aerythia in Uruga.
How does this work?
1. You will be split into 2 teams by Aerythia.
2. One of these teams will be moved to my alt Guild “Seraphic” for the purpose of this event. Please don’t logout at the end of the event, since I will be wanting to invite you back to HV of course :p
3. Each team must choose their “messenger”. I cannot stress enough, to do this in a SECRET fashion AND whatever you do DO NOT REVEAL your “messenger” to the other team, unless you want a really, really tough game!
4. Once chosen, the “messenger” must whisper me, and let me know who they are. From this moment on, only the “messenger” from each team may whisper me.
5. I’ll be posting the maps where you can find a “word” during this preparation stage. I’ll be posting on the HV thread on Outspark Fiesta forums, at www.setbb.com/vanguards.
6. Once this is done, we’ll need 5minutes to allow Station Masters to get to their first hiding place in their first map (including me!)
7. Once teams are sorted, and I know the messenger of each team, war will be declared by one of the Guilds. If for whatever reason the 50min war period runs out, we can simply reverse declare with the other Guild. This means there is no time limit, WIN is achieved by the correct message being delivered to Aerythia in Uruga.
8. As soon as war is declared, the event begins, meaning you have a 5minute grace period where you won’t be trying to murder each other.
9. You need to collect 10 words from 10 hidden “Station Masters” on 10 different maps in Isya. Here’s the thing though… only the chosen “Messenger” will be able to collect the word from the “Station Master”. To signal to the Station Master once they have found him/her that the “messenger” wishes to receive the word, they must simply shroom infront of him/her. Then, the “word” will be whispered to the “messenger”.
a. As you can imagine, should the other team find out who your “Messenger” is, you’ll be in a lot of trouble, because all they need to do is keep killing your “Messenger” over and over, and you’ll never be able to collect any words!
b. Therefore, having as many of your group as possible infront of the “Station Master” to shroom will be advantageous, otherwise a single person shrooming is a dead give away if you know what I mean :p. Although, if the other team is kept away, or sneakily diverted, then it’s not an issue is it? ^^
c. Either way, you’ll need to think of some tactics to try catch the other team out and work out who their messenger is, while keeping yours a secret.
10. You must get the first 5 words from locations 1-5, before moving onto locations 6-10. This is simply because the Station Masters are all doubling up and therefore need some time to hide themselves on their 2nd map! NOTE – this may change depending on how many Station Masters are actually able to make the day ;).
Rules.
1. It’s a war… so anything goes. Gang up on certain members, kill their Clerics, do whatever you like. However, it would be nice to allow people to leave the spawning area following death, consistent spawn kill may mean Station Masters don’t want to give words :P.
2. You can use scrolls to buff yourself, whatever you like. Like I said, its war ^^.
3. Even if you’ve worked out the message, you still must visit ALL Station Masters to collect the words on an official basis.
4. The winning team is the team which reaches first, WITH ALL MEMBERS, Aerythia in Uruga, following visiting and collecting the word from all 10 Station Masters, and delivers to her the correct message, via the “messenger”.
5. If the Seraphic team (who is warring HV) tries to kill Aerythia, she won’t be happy, and she’ll probably tell the Station Masters not to give you the words. So don’t so it ^^.
Helpful Hints.
1. You don’t have to stick together as a team 24/7. You’re allowed to split up if you want.
2. You don’t even have to fight. You can try be sneaky if you like.
3. Don’t just rush about, take some time to plan, there are a lot of clever things which can be done, such as pretending someone else is messenger and “accidentally” letting this slip in front of the other team etc.

Of course, if I arrange something, and no-one turns up, well that'll be pretty heartbreaking for me after putting in time and effort, SO please, if you do show an interest here, make effort to turn up to them. They wouldn't be every week, since I have my own Guild to attend to ;).
It is likely that I would run these events on a Saturday, at 9/10pm GMT, which is about 4/5pm EST and 1/2pm PST, to accomodate EU and USA timezones.
