Game Doesnt Acknowledge Keyboard/ Chat Disappears

Randomly, the game decides to no longer accept commands from my keyboard and I am forced to use the mouse for all my actions, (extremely difficult for when your soloing and you have to use potions while using skills) and this usually coincides with the chat box disappearing. Even if i press enter the box does not appear, and no the game setting has it so it SHOULD be appearing. PLEASE HELP this makes it impossible to communicate in-game!
