About
Seen all the other people with cool picture's in thier siggys and want to make your own? Sure it might not be as good as all the professional's but it's handmade and something you should be proud of. And the best thing is this guide requires NO downloading as it is going to be completely made in paint.

What Is A 'Siggy'?
A siggy is short for Signature and is basically a little bit of text or an image that is place under each post so people know who you are. Just in the same way you'd sign a letter except us of the forum communities like to do a bit more than that.

What Programmes Can I Use?
Essentially any image editing programme including Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and even MS Paint! You can download free trials of any of these simply by searching Google, but there are some free ones out there. This guide is teaching you how to make them in Paint.

What Equipment Will I Need?
Microsoft Paint, Screenies* and a good eye for making Siggys.

The Guide
First off all, take your screenshot. The one I am going to be using is here. (http://i25.tinypic.com/24315b6.jpg) and then open it up in MS Paint.

Step One: Cropping
> Go to the icon that is a little dotted square.
> Click on a place where you want the right hand corner to be.
> Drag a dotted box around the area you want your siggy to be, and right click it.
> Select 'Cut'

> Paste the selected bit into a new paint page and close the old one.

Step Two: Adding a Border
> Zoom In to the image. It should be small enough that after one zoom you can see it all.
> Select the solid square Icon.
> Select the size, you want it quite thick as its a border.
> Pick your colour.
> Drag the box to the around the edge of your image.

> Add a second, different coloured border if you like like I did below.

Step Three: Decoration
You can add other little screenies if you like by following the steps above but on a smaller scale, like this:

Another thing you can do is add pretty things from the internet as long as they are not copyrighted.
Say I wanted to add this:

First I would make sure there is NO tick by the 'Draw Opaque' tab.

I would copy the image and then paste it into my paint document, resize it and place it where I wanted to be.
Tip: Use Image > Flip/Rotate if you want to do either of those.
In this case I went around it with the paint tool to give it a hand-made feel to it.

Step Four: Text
Part One: Fonts.
You can use the fonts already installed into your computer to add your name, but frankly I find these boring so I went to a font download site (dafont.com) and found a font I liked ('WindSong') and opened the file containing the font.
Note: You must have the file open to be able to use the font (if downloaded)

Part Two: Text
> Include things such as Name, Server, Level, Fighter, Guild etc.
> Make your name quite big so people know who you are.
> Don't clutter it up with text. Place it where it looks best.

Step Five: Uploading
Now all you have to do is get that picture into your siggy.
> Save it as siggy.png (Not JPG!) it will give it better quality.
> Go to a site such as tinypic.com and upload the picture.
> Go to the forums > Options > Edit Signature.
> Input this code URLHERE and put in the URL the site gives you such as http://i32.tinypic.com/155nx4w.png
> Use the CENTER tab if you like, and add other text beneath that you couldn't add in below. And you're done :D

How do I remove the white space?]
Select the dotted box tool and drag it over the siggy (Not over the white space!) then copy and paste this into a new canvas, then save!

Hehe I cheated a little, I did cut out the background just from a screenie and make the border and other things in paint, but I used paintshop pro to fade the smaller picture, put the lightburst in and other things. ;>

If you want to use a program the best known FREE photo program is "GIMP"

lol photoshop, just a few parts were with GIMP as my photoshop used to be glitchy and it would auto shut down with lag, but that's all fixed now ^^

I found loads of free ones, and put them all together and you essentially have photoshop, except im too lazy to do anything proper with them :P

Semi-related question:

I notice you always say to save screenshots as PNG, and I'm just wondering if you mean by pasting from the clipboard and saving it, or if there's a way to set it so that the screens in the Fiesta folder get auto saved as PNG?

I don't know if you can do that xD
I'm sure you can but anyway.
When they save into the Fiesta folder automatically, they are the best quality you can expect. Its when you edit them you loose quality if you don't save it correctly :)
But im sure there is a way.

I make all my siggy's unless stated otherwise :)
I use Paint Shop Pro 8. Free Trial xD It runs out tommorow though. I need to find a new one.

Yes I know it's blurry. This is because I had to edit my hand's off of the hilt at 3am last night and it wasn't very good so I just blurred it to cover my mistakes xD

What white thing? If you mean a white border it means you havnt cropped it properly. Click on the dotted square tool, and drag it over the area you want. Then cut (ctrl+c) then paste (ctrl+c) it into a new image. Then resize the canvas so there is no white space at all xD

And yeah, if you find you like making siggies then you should definatly try photoshop, but if I were you - I would try paint shop pro or paint.net first to get you to grip with some of the tools photoshop is using. I remember jumping in to photoshop straight away and not getting it at all, but now I do because I used PSP :)

Oh wow, you have an eye for design!
The screenie is amazing and you positioned the text to flow with it :)
But save it as PNG though, otherwise it goes blurry and the font is a little harder to read :X

QUESTION : I tried saving my siggy as .png but then it came up as .gif.
Tried typing the url image as .png and it came out as "Image removed or moved".

Okuuki, when saving your siggy as PNG, make sure youre saving the 'type' as png too.
If its still being silly, in the title of the picture name put .png at the end.

Also how do you get a "cutout" of your character from a photo where you can get your character without the background.

Screenshots are stored in the Fiesta folder. Try:

Start -> My Documents -> Fiesta

Screenshots should be there.

For cutting out images, you have to crop images. For MS Paint, it's much easier to use the Free-Form Select tool to get only your character. For professional programs like Photoshop, I believe it's the magic wand set to a different percentage of tolerance. I don't know for sure though.

For the transparent text I just added it while editing the image in photobucket. You click add text and then there should be a little check box to make it transparent. I dont know if you use Photobucket though. (The black text kinda throws off the name at the top >.< I'll have to see what I can do with that later)

Thats pretty impressive with Paint. This might seem confusing to some people, but you might want to add some Cinema 4-Dimention to your sigs. Or maybe rendering the characters out, and making your own background. It might be a lot harder, but its worh it :D

Tips:
Replace the text with your IG name
Remove those stars
Remove character thingy on Top-Left
.......

Try changing second color to Purple instead of red, and see if you like it :)

Quite easy actually if you use Blingee you can just pick ^.^

not related to fiesta but made my first sig ever thnx to your tutorial ^^ made it for my gamertag from xbox 360. made it using paint pro x from corel i think its pretty cool for my first try but the writing seems weird cause of the blue outline i think might take a day or 2 and mess around learning all the stuff so i can make an awesome one like you but here you go :

mmm There's another program that u can download. it's called Photoscape. real good to use. I used paint mainly but finishing touches like fonts and stuff were from photoscape. This is what I made
