(n00b) Not to be confused with the words 'newb' or 'newbie'. A noob is
someone who either a) has been playing a game or doing something for a
long time and still just doesn't get it or is horrible b) Has been
playing a game for a short period of time and asks questions that the
answers are in plain view*
I want to get this across because well i don't want this place to turn into runescape (which sucks) so if you see someone using the term noob incorrectly correct them and tell them not to be well nooby because its common knowledge that if you go around calling people noobs your one yourself.
If you want the short version here it is
Noob does NOT have anything to do with level but charcter*

About 3 weeks ago, while the game was on and I was shouting I made it clear to those that didn't know what noob was about the real meaning of the word.* Much like you stated and not beating around the bush I clearly stated the same thing that you just posted but with more explicit views.* Due to that outburst of my character and the repeated badgering of the people that used that work ingame it is understood and point taken by many players what were in the closed beta game.
If anyone uses such a word, remember this, if you plan on grouping with these people, they do have more then one character and they will remember you.* I do, I'm a healer, mess with me is like asking to be killed on a KQ.* I do carry a pen and a clipboard with a piece of paper and trust me I don't take to kindly to those that use the word noob.
People try to understand that there are players that learn at a different degree then you and they need help.* The use of noob is not a good thing and if you want to be respected try to respect youself first by not using the slag words such as noob, we all know what you are saying and that just ain't nice.

I've always viewed "newbie" as a term for somebody who's new to a game but willing to learn, and "noob" being somebody who's obnoxious, annoying, and generally doesn't know what he's doing and refuses to listen to more experienced players' advice.
And yes, people that are running around calling people "noobs" all the time are usually in no position to talk :P

typical example of a loser, by the way try to write and read after you write, you might not confuse yourself so much.

I have no problem calling people noobs when they deserve it. I could care less whether they have alternate characters or whatever, and I have no intention of grouping with them. For KQs, people that are noobs aren't going to be much help anyway, and are likely to hurt the group more than help it, regardless of what class they are.
Newbies are different. I'm happy to answer questions and help out as long as the person is polite, friendly, and demonstrates reasonable intelligence.
Anyway, my point is, keep a list if you want, but if someone's a noob, I'll call them what they are.
Oh, by the way, for someone who's so self-righteous about not calling people noobs, you sure are quick to call someone a loser. Hypocrite much?

Hahaha. So true, however you should not take it to such fanatical levels y'know?
Noob is such as has been described, it is also a term used on those who refuse to learn.. Newbie is one who asks many questions, yet learns from them. I prefer the term snert even if it's not widely used ( Super Newbie Extra Retarded Turd)
In any case, The use of such a word has lost its meaning to many of the unguided population and should be corrected, though one should take the time to teach rather than to just badger them. Some cases are lost, and these are the ones you should make note of, though not as offhand as the clipboard thing.
After all, if they are not worth remembering through your mind they are usually not worthy of the memory in the first place and thus shall be dismissed in such ways that they shall only evoke emotion when the time comes to pass.

Wow, Angels, thanks for clearing that up.* I'll be sure to be as obnoxious as you everytime a player misuses that word.
We must demonstrate what superior gamers we are.* I am grateful to you for the lecture, and for placing it in the Gameplay forum.
Hey, maybe we could teach people about posting in the proper forum categories! Sometimes n00bs have a hard time with that, too.

Would you then tell me what forum it should be then??
It isnt an introduction
It isnt about classes
It isnt about guilds
It isnt off topic because it involves a topic in game
Its GAMEPLAY due to that when you play this game, conversation is a part of it leading to the topic about noobs.
If you would like to suggest a better one go right ahead

c) Feel that much superior to everyone else that he call newbies n00bs without beeing able to bring real help. Typical sentence: "You n00b can't understand".
And if you combine a + b + c, the result is a troll /sites/all/modules/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-sealed.gif

i hate the word noob..and for the most part the ppl doing the calling are the 1s who think* they are a ingame gods.real life as ingame* ppl make mistakes ..some might make theirs in a middle of battle, other might in crafting ect...even if their question* might be stupid and u think to urself* wow that was a stupid question..stop and think again "who that a stupid question to them "of course it wasnt is why they asked the question..its a game ppl they all are game ..try helping and have fun ..and having fun helping ..and if u dont want to help dont dismiss them by calling them noob.. tell them where the infor is located and go about ur bussiness.
in the words of a once beaten man
"cannt we all just get along"???

Well at least I know there are some people who actually do know the difference around here. My advice tho when someone calls me a noob is a) ignore, they wont undestand anything except the word noob anyways or b) if they persist tell them to grow and and get out of diapers before they play an mmo
And everyone who has this uncontrolable urge to flame people etc, EVERYONE was a newbie once, EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion, and if people would try to get along instead of constantly badger eachother about pointless **** then the game, and any other game for that matter, would be a better place. SO quit acting like 3 yr olds fighting over a stuffed toy and move on, there will always be someone who doesnt have the same view as you, but when you feel the need to flame them for it that just proves you are the one with no life and nothing better to do than act like a child.

Lol... as I read this thread I can't help but think....
"If someone didn't know if Fiesta was Pay2Play or Free, Reading this thread would clear that up immediately"
:)
(and it's a good thing 'noob' isn't defined by spelling)
