iccicle is.................... basicly just a waste of mp theres no effects from iccicle and it does about same dmg as lighting lv1 all*edit* it is is is like a 2-3 hit combo move that looks pretty cool *edit* its there for when u get bored i guess i dunno but it just costs way to much mp lighting is the more practical way to go

From Mage to Wizard: You can change to Wizard at level 96. Once you are at that level, talk to Reinmoth again and click on "Apply for Class change". She'll give the class change quest, which requires 2 Caricsobanas, 5 Yellow Watermelons and 1 Xen Stone. Caricsobana drops in Phildevilt Plateau, YWM and Xens are rare drops in any map.
(I need more details on the class change to Wizard T.T)
Magic Shield: Available at lv 31. While it's on effect, any damage you take (excluding damage from poison, bleeding, etc.) will decrease MP instead of HP, up to 7 times.
This is very useful if you get mobbed. While it may seem a useless skill at earlier levels, you should keep it on all the time when you're lv 60+
To use this skill you need a "Magical Tonic", which can be bought from the general store.
Upgrades: Lv 2=Lv 51, Lv 3=Lv 71, Lv 4=91, Lv 5=111
MP Cost: Lv 1=12, Lv 2=16, Lv 3=20, Lv 4=??, Lv 5=??
Magic Beam: Available at lv 86. This is another stun skill, but it lasts only a couple of seconds. The damage is very high, but I believe there's a cooldown.
Upgrades: Lv 2=106
MP Cost: Lv 1=26, Lv 2=29
Volcano: Available at lv 96, MUST be Wizard. Yet another AoE skill. The range is smaller, and damages all the foes around the caster.
Upgrades: (At very high level so I won't mention it yet)
MP Cost: Lv 1=68
Some additional info:
1) Caricsobana drops in Lost Wedge Valley as well
2) Magic Shield absorbs and reduce the damage from mobs by some percentage.. ie lvl 4 magic shield reduces 20-40 damage..
3) Magic Beam has 23s cooldown
4) Volcano range is the same as ALL aoe skills such as lightning, frost and icicle.. Its just that u in the middle of the skill while casting..
Good job.. nice

*edit*
Magic Ice:
Upgrades: Lv 2=Lv 36, Lv 3=Lv 56, Lv 4=Lv 76, Lv 5=Lv 96
MP Cost: Lv 1=9, Lv 2=13, Lv 3=17, Lv 4=21, Lv 5=25
Magic Shield:
Upgrades: Lv 2=Lv 51, Lv 3=Lv 71, Lv 4=91, Lv 5=111
MP Cost: Lv 1=12, Lv 2=16, Lv 3=20, Lv 4=24
Magic Posion:
Upgrades: Lv 2=Lv 61, Lv 3=Lv 86, Lv 4=111
MP Cost: Lv 1=12, Lv 2=16, Lv 3=20
Lightning:
Upgrades: Lv 2=81, Lv 3=106
MP Cost: Lv 1=31, Lv 2=42, Lv 3=53
Frost:
Upgrades: Lv 2=91, Lv 3=116
MP Cost: Lv 1=35, Lv 2=46,
Icicle:
MP Cost: Lv 1=46, Lv 2=59
Magic Beam:
Upgrades: Lv 2=106
MP Cost: Lv 1=26, Lv 2=29
Volcano:
MP Cost: Lv 1=68
Magic Flame: Available at lv 106.
It cause huge dmg. 6 secs cooldown.
Effects: Stun & Bleed
Upgrades: (At very high level so I won't mention it yet)
MP Cost: Lv 1=23
there^^ hope that helps

Well I updated everything now, added some bit of info on cooldowns and duration of magic ice, concentration and frost and made a new section...
But, I still need help with the training spots... >.< I was thinking about making a new thread for it, but I'm going to do it here.
If anyone wants to help me, read the "Where to train" section. ^_^

Well I personally stuck to Mystra during lvls 25-40 and Played around in the cyoren-shiao-belt stretch 40-50. Or I switch to east Essene during the 25-40. Both ares are good for exp, but east essene is low on drops

loren is available for soloing at lvl 54...*thats when you magic ice works*
but idk, rud is safer and thats one of the advantage of apps
WE COULD SOLO ANYWHERE WE WANT AS LONG AS ICE WORKS!! <3 <3
Kayarine

I know I know, I've tried to solo Loren at lv 54... But I think it's really bad to solo there at that level, simply because it would take too long to kill a monster, and apps at that level probably get killed in 2-4 hits (depending if it's a Boar/Showbell or Raccoon/Dungdali)
Plus if you solo there at that level, you're going to be broke very fast. o.o When I soloed Loren as a lv 60+ app, I just ran out of money and had to sell all my pet quest stuff... XD That's why I think Loren is bad for solo if you're lower than lv 66. D;

omg the places to train list!! :3 flawless its like everywhere i grinded at those lvs i hope other classes look at that list also xD
[Notice] Failure to observe to places to train list may have unwanted effects such as unnessasary pot burn, being chased into sz, and or the dreaded........ being called a noob

<--- Did not train in those places >.<

I soloed north of Eir at early 5x, then duo'ed with a mage in Chant until I hit 58 or so. I skipped Rud/Loren and got the next 8 levels (and my mage-ness!) soloing Chant. Since my mage wasn't my first char, making krons or burning pots really aren't issues for me. Loren is too crowded, and Rud is pretty popular for aoe, so Chant was really nice in comparison.
The downside, of course, is I died a depressing number of times in Chant. But 7% doesn't seem much when you can get it back in 20 kills or less :)

actually i do enjoy killing easy white mobs since they die easier. you wont use as much mana but even though you must kill ALOT more mobs you get ALOT more drops since you kill ALOT more :D
but its what you like to do for yourself :D
Kayarine
07-09-2008, 04:48 PM
In my opinion soloing maps where you can get killed in 2 hits while taking a while to kill a monster is bad... Because there's high chance of getting mobbed. Yeah the exp is good, but you may keep dying before you get 7%. O.o
At least that was what happened to me when I tried to solo Loren at lv 54. XD

xD kremie this guide is directed at new ppl to sos that choose app if u remember even with the easy get 7% back we stayed at 50 and 60+ forever on our mains xD its so much easer to lv alt char if you have high lv main

:D my bad, but not every newbie is a noob ~
Also, Ani, when I was 5x and 6x on my scout, Chant hadn't come out yet. Once it did, I went there when I was lvl 71, maybe, and got to archer there.
Leveling an alt is, in general, easier to the extent that you might not have to worry about krons or pots, and you can get your friends to duo with you (when they might not usually want to duo with a total newbie). Bottom line in my case though: apps are like the mirror image of scouts -- so yeah, getting to 2nd class was fast, but only because I was basically grinding Kremlin Redux.

Man I worked on that "where to train" list for nothing. <.<
Lv 39-42: Cyoren Forest / Colrona Forest / Felix Forest / Ashmon Hills / Ashely Forest
You can go 1 map after those maps if you want...
If you don't know how to get to those maps, there's a link to the world map thread at the start of the training spots list.

Yeah it kinda defeats the point if people don't read something you've written up meticulously and ask questions of which answers are already given >.<
But we all apprentices still love you for this thread Kayarine. *cookies*

can some1 put on the quest list for apps
Kayarine
07-20-2008, 04:35 AM
The quests are all the same for all the classes, with exception of the lv 35 quest... So I think that's not relevant to put, unless there's more quests that are exclusive to mages/wizards/arch mages...

Level 116 Skills:
-level 3 Frost 57 mp
-level 6 Magic Ice 29 mp
-level 1 Ice Ball 25 mp
Ice Ball:
-It has frozen effect with low probability
-It decrease targets speed same as magic ice
-High damage like Magic Flame (1000+ dmg for pure int build)
Cooldown: 2.5 secs
magic ice and iceball stack, so when both are used on a monster, it wil be super slow

Additional info about Ice Ball and Magic Ice lvl 6:
Ice Ball = slow rate equals to Magic Ice lvl 5 = damage slightly lower than Magic Flame = cooldown 3s
Magic Ice lvl 6 = higher slow rate = damage extra 50-100 from Magic Ice level 5 = cooldown 4s
They stack, so you don't have to move at all to kill a mob at turmeit.. LOL uberness
