What are the benefits and stats of a Disciple? I certainly don't want to be a Cleric (I like to solo) so I am interested in finding out more about Disciples before I create my Acolyte. Can anyone help me?

anyone care to comment on this??

also in addition..... The magic you skill on acolytes do you still keep those when you become a disciple?

I'm asking cos i have all the lvl 2 and a few lvl 3 skills even though i cant use them yet and want to know if its worth skilling them or selling them off if im going to lose them when i become a disciple

You will lose all your aco skills when you class change. But go ahead and add them as they come up or you may have trouble advancing. Especially the buffs, because you are really going to need to party to advance through the 40 levels to class change. The level 3 stuff you can probably sell, if you're sure your going to change. You should build your aco pure int, except for enough pow to use your staff, which means adding 1 point every tenth level. This will all reset at your class change. At that point you start adding to pow. There is some debate here, because some people recommend pure pow while others say about level 54 start adding a little to sta.

Disciples have a timed healing skill they can cast on themselves and others. They have buffs they can only self cast. They can solo, which acos can't do effectively after about level 40, and they eventually get aoe skills which really help them level faster. I am not a disciple, I have three good friends who are, however 2 have yet to reach the aeo skill and the third just doesn't want to, she prefers a supportive role. As she is a frequent bodyguard for my aco I am happy with that decision.

Please don't take this as concrete, but verify with an actual disciple or two. I think I am accurate though as I looked really closely at level 45 before deciding to stay aco. One thing you might consider is hanging in 3 or three more levels before switching. This would make you a little stronger and I think going from 45 to 48 would be faster as an aco partying than soloing as a disciple. But it might be more boring too if you don't like aco work.
