I shall write this as short as possible. I am sorry to let you all down. ;O; For I too have let my own self down. I have lost my computer to the evil clutches of my mother (Okay she isn't very evil) and now my laptop rests under her watchful eye, but I the quick witted daughter I am have come upon a wonderful plan. A plan that shall not fail-I hope- and shall ask for it to attend to my AP work for which I should have done many weeks ago. With that time I will send as much as I can write as well as a short prologue that you might all feast upon until I can finally fulfill the short story, edit it, and make it all that I can hope too. ^^

Prologue

Typing animatedly away at my computer I took note of such a picture that formed in my mind that I could not surpass. Upon this picture forming a dear friend messaged me to begin up a story, EriAeris. Though sadly just as our conversation began my internet decided to take a break and died just as I formed my next sentence. Without very little to do and the Mario Song stuck in my mind I quickly opened a word document and let the story take me back to the beginning of my tale...

A young archer on the journey of her life to be the very best of Isya. Upon her course she performs tasks for the locals, becomes friends with many adventurers like herself, and battles fierce creatures. Where her journey takes her no one knows, not even she.

So will you adventure into the young girl's journey?

Part 1: The Journey Begins

Once upon a time, there lived a young archer. She was destined for glory and fame, but no one knew, for she had only just begun the game of fate. Starting fresh and new, she took a walk down the cities steps where she was embraced by the soft breezes the ocean air brought forth to the little town of Roumen. With her bright blue locks flowing in the warm summer breeze of the ocean she walked up to a strange woman who was not only a stranger to her, but someone who seemed rather friendly despite knowing nothing of her. The woman slightly raised her hand in the air and shook it just once as in a greeting of welcome to the young archer as she walked up to speak to her.

“Hello there young one, might I ask your name?” the woman asked her as the young archer stood in front of her.

“Delphina,” she spoke as a shy smile appeared and a slight blush covered her cheeks.

“Delphina, welcome to the small city of Roumen, I do hope you’ve enjoyed your stay so far. My name is Remi, if you need any help make sure to make your way back down sometime and ask me all the questions you have,” the woman spoke as a smile too appeared on her face.

Soon the two were chatting so fast, Delphina forgot that she was supposed to make her fame and glory that her fate so surely spoke of. So, saying good-bye to Remi she went off into the wilderness of Roumen. She met many a monster along her way, but all fell down to her bow of might. Then one day she decided it was time to take a step back into to Roumen after being out in the wilderness for longer then she had meant.

I was going to make it longer, but decided against it due to time restraints and my thoughts being focused on my 4 AP summer essays (1 down... 3 to go. ;O;). I must admit the only problem of my writing is my lack of grammar skills. >.< I fail at grammar.

Part 2: Unforeseen Task

When she graced the city with her presence she noticed that many of the town folk needed someone to help them with their problems, maybe they had heard of her adventures or picked the first one they saw. She let all these thoughts slip by her and walked up to an old man who appeared to be the smith of the town.

“Hello there, will you help me with some thieving bandits that have stolen some important items from me?” he spoke with a deep voice.

“Uh… sure sir, but might I ask your name first? Mine is Delphina,” she spoke with a shy small voice.

“Ah, my name is James, Smith James to be correct,” he spoke before he coughed. “Sorry, smoke has been getting to me lately. So, will you help me out?”

“Sure, I will!” she said excitedly. “Where do I go though?”

“To Sand Beach of course, them Imp Gang won’t stand a chance,” he spoke as a grin stretched across his face. “Good luck girl.”

So, off she went to this new place she’d never been before. She was scared of what the gang would hold in store for her. She was near the waters and walking on the sand, it sunk down as her foot landed on the soft dirt, when she paused and listened. With her excellent hearing she spotted the gang. They didn’t look quite all that scary. She kept her distance though and took out her bow and strung an arrow in it. She aimed the bow exactly just so, and let the arrow fly straight and true towards its target. Down went the leader of the gang as the arrow sped straight into his chest. His two guards didn’t know what had just occurred and when they saw the body of their leader they franticly began to search the wooden areas for intruders.

Delphina stayed well away from the guards and just as silently as she had killed the leader, she had killed the two guards. Before leaving completely to tell James of her feat, she decided to check the gang’s camp for anything that might prove useful. She found mostly a bunch of food; she took it because her supply was beginning to run low. The next morning she strolled into town with her head held up high. Many people greeted her as she walked by and she nodded and smiled in return. When she reached the James she couldn’t keep her excitement away.

“I’ve killed the gang James. I’ve done it!” she exclaimed happily showing him something she had grabbed from the dead gang leader’s body before she left.

“So you have, thank you. As a token of my gratitude please take this humble bow that I’ve stored in my smithy,” he said as he went further into his shop and pulled out a new bow with polished wood.

“Thank you,” she said as she grabbed the new one and handed him her old one. “I shall not be needing that, make sure it finds a good home for it has been good to me.”

“I sure will,” he said smiling. “I’ve another favor to ask.”

Soon enough Delphina was running all around town helping the towns’ folk with their problems and doing them favors. Before long she was off on quests for the higher ups to see new kingdoms. She battled fierce monsters and gained the fortune and fame that she was destined for.

Part 3: Fast Friends

After a short period of battling monsters in the dark lands by her lonesome self she couldn’t help, but feel a strange abyss inside herself. She needed a companion or rather a friend to travel the long dark journey she had begun. She left her thoughts drift to all she had met. She’d met many adventurers, but she’d never been able to fit in and many times the larger groups were more then she wanted to be around. She knew she was one to stay solo, but she wanted to extend her hand and become friends with a traveler she met.

As her thoughts drifted on such subjects, loneliness overtook her and she didn’t notice the stray monster as she walked too near and triggered its alertness and it came racing over towards her. Just as she caught onto the beast coming towards her a burst of magic hit it. She had a sudden sense that she was no longer alone. The monster now searched for where the magic came from. This allowed her to get away without alerting the monster again, though she kept one eye on the monster as it kept searching and one eye on where she was headed.

Just as she hid behind the rock another magic burst appeared and knocked the monster off its feet. Now that she was safe she took another look at the monster and paid more attention to what it was. It looked like small ghost-like figure, but it was green and not really transparent and atop its head there was what looked like a yellow hat. Whether it was attached or not she could not tell because a sudden flash of like caused the ghost-like monster to disappear.

Watching from her hiding spot, she watched as a young female came from behind the trees on the other side of the clearing. She noted that the girl wore what appeared to be a purple following robe that flowed down to just above her feet. Her stomach appeared to be uncovered and she wore a rather short skirt and tight shirt with on sleeve underneath her robe. As she walked out into the clearing a soft tap from her high heels sounded throughout the surrounding forest area.

The figure that stood in the center of the clearing now began to glance around searching for something. Delphina slowed her breathing afraid the figure would attempt to hurt her in some way, but why would the girl do that when she had saved her instead. Maybe I should show myself. How much harm could that do? She pondered the thoughts that swirled in her mind about what to do. She didn’t want to just walk out, but at the same time she didn’t want the girl to leave without her doing anything.

Thinking about it would solve nothing she began to though. With that she stood up from her hiding place and waited until the girl’s eyes landed on her. Delphina gave a small smile and raised her hand to wave a hello to show that she was friend and not foe. The girl lowered the stick that she carried that Delphina now noticed.

“Who are you?” the girl said loudly still standing in a defense manner even though her stick was lowered.

“My name is Delphina. What might yours be?” Delphina spoke calmly knowing that she would not be harmed. Maybe this is my chance to gain a new friend.

“Sapphire,” the girl said light-heartedly as her eyes drifted towards the ground.

“Thanks for saving me,” Delphina said cheerfully as she walked out into the clearing away from her previous position.

“You’re just lucky I was here in time,” Sapphire said smugly. “What are you doing out her anyway?”

“I was travelling to Elderine when I got lost in thought,” Delphina said reminiscing to her thoughts before the small accident. “How about you?”

“I to am headed towards the Kingdom of Commerce,” Sapphire spoke and noticed that Delphina was confused by the name she’d used. “It is what my people call Elderine.”

“Do you live nearby?” Delphina asked the confusion sliding from her face and a smile talking its place.

“No, I live farther away, but it is no longer my home,” she spoke, grief passed over her face, but in a flickering moment it was gone.

“Oh,” Delphina said as a silence passed between them.

“We could travel together, since you appear you need someone to keep you safe,” Sapphire spoke breaking the awkward silence.

“It was just one accident, it will never happen again, but I’d like your company,” Delphina said as a small giggle escaped her. “This shall prove interesting.”

“I’m sure it will,” Sapphire spoke as she moved along the path. “Better hurry up, or you’ll get left behind.”

“Coming,” Delphina said as she raced forward to Sapphire’s side.

The two walked down the path as the sun began to settle down. They soon become lost in conversation. Speaking of the travels, homes, families, and many experiences they hand. Delphina had at last found a friend and they were headed towards Elderine which was said to be a marvelous city.

Part 4: Caught

She first heard of the city from an older fellow in the town of Roumen who had spoken of the city many times. He said that is was lovely and full of my adventurers seeking refuge from battles and healing and to buy goods and such. He’d told her that it was time for her to seek new places, so, she decided that it was time to go in search of the city.

Two days after making her new friend, Sapphire, Delphina discovered that she had lost the way to her destination. She tried to keep quiet because she thought Sapphire might have said something, but after the third day she noticed that neither of them knew their way obviously.

“I think we’re lost…,” Delphina sighed as she stared at her surroundings. “I was sure it would have been this way.”

“It’s okay we’ll find our way,” Sapphire reassured her. “Let’s just go back.”

“Um… I’m not sure exactly if we can find our way back,” Delphina said as she put her bow down on the ground and leaned up against a nearby tree. She placed her head into her hands and rubbed her eyes then leaned her head back.

Sapphire walked over towards where Delphina sat and leaned against the tree with one leg propped up against the other side of the tree. After a few minutes of silence Delphina got up and looked around once again. She bent down and picked up her bow.

“I guess your right, we better try to turn around,” Delphina sighed as she walked back towards their original spot. “Coming?”

Minutes after they left where they turned around Delphina heard a snap somewhere in the distance. She held up her hand to stop Sapphire from walking any further. Delphina slid the hand held up down towards the pack that kept her arrows. She quietly slipped her hand in and pulled out an arrow the tip glistened in the bright afternoon sun. She slipped the arrow to the bow stealthily and the nodded her head to let Sapphire know to be prepared. Quietly they moved forward being wary of anything that would make too much noise. Just as Delphina was going to let her caution drop black shapes appeared in front of her and then the next thing all goes black and then a scream goes up, probably Sapphire’s she guessed.

Rough hands were crawling over her body and then she was picked up. Delphina kicked in protest, but she could not free herself from the person who now carried her. A shiver or fear passed through her body, for herself and her new friend. Please… I hope we make it through. She thought as she was tossed into something, she noticed now that a bag was on her head and her hands had recently been tied up.

“Where is Sapphire?” she spoke, it was barely a whispered it. No one answered her, she noted and she silently cried, but kept back the tears.
