View Full Version : Archer-Only Stat and New Skills?

Hey archers. I think you will agree that Archers are woefully underpowered. No new person becomes an archer anymore. The crowded fronts of roumen are dominated by clerics and fighter level-ones. With all the stats of every other class, a small amount of skills, and no demand at all in parties, Archers , let me say, only exist in what we may soon call the "Old Generation".
I cannot force OutSpark to add what I think they should, but I do want to face the two new skills and the special stat to the archer population. NO, I DO NOT WANT FIGHTERS, CLERICS, AND MAGES RANTING. Yes, the other classes can post, but on this particular thread, I am using the much-hated rule, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it." This doesn't apply to Archers here. :)
NEW SKILLS:
Nature's Whip: An entanglement skill that would work like a fighters stun, disabling the creature for, say, five to twenty seconds, depending on empowerment and tier.
Natures Whip [01](Level 45)(Cost: 30s):
Active Skill. CDT: 45 seconds base. EMPOWERMENT: Increase power of whip from five seconds of stun to seven, ten, thirteen, fifteen, seventeen, twenty, the full empowerment. Cool-Down Time Decrease: Fifteen seconds base, every time you empower, knock off two seconds from cooldown until 3 second cooldown time.

Active Skill. CDT: 50 base. EMPOWERMENT: Increase Power: Increase length of whip from ten seconds to twelve, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, twenty, twenty-two, twenty-four seconds. Cool Down Time Decrease: Knock off one second from cooldown for every empowerment until lowest cdt is two second cooldown.
I hope you appreciate the skills and stat. Yes, these are ONLY FOR ARCHERS.

I am only lvl 30 archer so my opinion prolly doesnt matter but i see one flaw with these skills... More or less archers would become invincible...
Problem:
With the skill an archer cud conceivably take out any monster in the game if they can hit the mob because the cooldown can get so much lower than the duration effect... Even if you never empower CD but fully empower duration you still have time to keep the skill up 100% of the time... Which would leave the enemy to easily be killed even if you do hardly any dmg per hit...
Fix:
It's a good skill just cant keep it up all the time. Give it like a 45 sec CD and that still makes it possible to keep a mob immobilized for half the time when fully empowered.
Problem:
Eva stat with base 10% chance and increasing by 3% each time would also make the archer invincible at some point... With just +30 u could have a 100% eva rate. So after lvl 30 archers would become the best tanks ever because they would NEVER get hit haha. Obviously this would be overpowered. Also i dont think it is fair to give one job a stat no other job has access to, but that is besides the point.
Fix:
Honestly I dont know how to fix this without it being overpowered for every job because u cant give one job a stat and not givin it to others.

The skills are a bit overpowered. And the separate stat is wierd. I don't think the other classes would be too happy with it. =.=

Mobs already miss me 25% of the time, this would rig me to only being hit 50%. I dont even have highest eva on Apo either. I think they should just buff up dex for archers, not a EVA stat. They are working on entanglement skill already, it STOPS not stuns the target.
I think outspark is doing a good idea with what they have planned already so lets just wait and see what they do. I think Archers will be making a come back after this next update ;)

NEW STAT:
Evasion (EVA). A stat only for archers. EVA is based at 5 for archers, where there is a 5% chance any given monster will miss. As you use the stat points on it, you increase that chance by 3%. So EVA: 5 +5 would mean a 20% chance the monster would miss on any given hit. The highest empowerment is that there is 25% chance, 5 +6.

I agree with the skills but, the EVA is in DEX already :D Also... You know how in KM Dungeon's/Mara KQ's the archers immobilize people with their normal attack sometimes? Why doesnt it EVER happen to our archers. 1 more thing, DEX was supposed to add dmg to range attack. I guess outspark removed it though :mad: I hope they fix archers before most quit :confused:

forget the EVA stat thing.
on DEX: just make the evasion increase more..VISUABLE. and if they could add in the range increase, it would be cool. (i'm dex build)
what archers need under skills, is BUFF ones. currently there is only the attacking speed one at lv60, and it only can be casted on yourself. it also lasts only a short time and has a very long cooldown.
speed buff, crit buff, aim/evade buff - it would really help.
on the current skills, just take away the cast time. after so long i still dont get the point of putting the cast times.

I see where your coming from with our under power and that the new players arnt choosing archers any more but u must see the freedom we have as archers and to over come this under power thing ive have made my own way frist of all we know we can attack from a distance and there lies it when attacking from a distance with a high attack you can kill a monster without it even touching i know mages and clerics can do this but they need mp to keep this we dont ive my stat points on attack and speed and endurencen this let me kill monster with out them touchin me and also if they do they will miss also my armor and ect. raise my defense so they r helpless i foucus around this and ive kept good

we are not underpowered...
and in other versions of fiesta we do have stun, and team buff [increase crit rate for the party] which will be coming here soon. [i hope]
