Okay everyone, I have a question that only you can answer. I am looking for what, to you, makes Fiesta different from other free fantasy-based MMORPGS. What makes it stand apart?

Now, I am NOT looking for what can be changed, what you don't like or what needs to be fixed and will probably delete such posts from this thread. Again, what makes Fiesta different from any others? For example, FLYFF characters can fly... that's their gig. So what's ours?

It's up to you folks - thank you in advance.

What makes Fiesta different?

- It has a very close GM/Player Relationship.
- There seems to be more events.
- The graphics style is different and IMHO better than other Anime based MMORPGs

I think our main 'Gig' though is Kingdom Quests xD I havn't seen other games with this. But then again, I havn't played many MMORPG's like this...

I'll edit this post if I think of more :P

What makes Fiesta different?

hmmm...a hard question indeed

Well Fiesta is really a unique game and graphics are the best.
This game has more activities or events than other MMOs

The best part is all staffs help you out if you need help and they answer your questions, GMs on Fiesta really talks to normal players and they give hugs :D

The Shroom
Kingdom Quests
The way we can walk through other characters give a great sense of realism
Relationship between staff and community
Just general gameplay

The gig, is our gig. It's us, you, staff, players. This community is a lot closer than any other game I've played because Fiesta requires us to be together. We level up with each other, do the same kingdom quests and quest and grind on the same maps. This enables us to see each other more often than not. Other games don't do this as well as Fiesta does.

Kingdom quests
Stunning maps / visual effects (glow/spores...etc)

If I had to give a specific 'gig' it would be that grinding with a party doesn't usually feel like grinding at all. At least until higher levels. For the most part, just playing around in general gets you exp.

Also the value of sparkcash, and the amount you get per dollar is higher than most games.

The most special thing about Fiesta for me and the only reason why I even play it are the Kingdom Quests.

Okay, the community is nice but I don't really want to count this as part of the game, any sucky MMORPG can have a nice community. Besides the nice community is rather a reason to post on forums than to play the game.

Actually, the most special things about Fiesta in this order:
- Kingdom Quests
- Market System (players produce for players, there are almost no NPC-transactions needed, almost all the drops from monsters can be used for item production)
- Party Support (the way jobs fit together, the fact that buffs last 60 hours and get stronger for each party member, these are pretty unique party support features actually, most other MMORPGs only support parties by giving an exp bonus for each additional party member, otherwise partying only makes sense if a healer is in the party, in Fiesta however, any party combination is somewhat useful)

Well....to avoid posting up any "cliche" content:

- Kingdom Quests
- Unique outfits that can be attained via the Fiesta Store
- Vendor system
- GM-hosted events which brings the GM/player relationship a lot closer
- Name titles definitely
- In-game Weddings

Hmmm, did I miss anything?

the closeness of the community, the kq system, houses, partying, in-game weddings, our sparkcash store... these are all things that set Fiesta apart from every other mmo. The closeness of everyone is definitely something to be envied by others :P

windrider07

Um, duh, clothes.

That would be cliche as EVERY MMORPG has "clothes". Fiesta's system uses unique outfits to relfect off of special holidays, events, and seasons and I think that is one of the things that makes Fiesta uch a cool game from the rest.

Thank you all for your reposnes - keep em coming! :D

So what I am hearing is, above all, the community is one of the most unique aspects of Fiesta... which, I might add, is a direct result of each and every one of you, so kudos to you all!

But is it enough to attract new players? I mean, personally, I'd like to see our community grow! :p What do you think would attract new players here, and what do you think would make them stay?

Serric, what I don't get is that in the first post you said you are not looking for suggestions how to improve Fiesta, but then you posts and ask how to attract more players. I wonder what do you expect us to say other than "making more advertisement"?

If Outsparks wants to keep / get a high player base they should just look at the main reasons why people quit the game and eliminate these.

Some things that could be improved:

- better way to get rid of gold spamers, seriously probably half of the new players will basically instant-quit again when they log in and their whole message window is full of gold selling messages, they won't even play so far to see a KQ, keep in mind that new players don't know about the block function and only very few go to the forums to find out about it

- remove the 'dead levels'; improve Honeying KQ, honestly I think many player get frustrated if after 20 KQs they still didn't even have a single success, yes I know it's doable, but it's not often enough a success and I know some players quit at this level range also because of lower number of quests on some levels (there are probably more of these 'dead levels' later in the game, the Honeying issue is just the first the players will encounter, earlier the 'dead level' was level 26, but that got fixed by increased quest exp and more Golden Hill KQs)

- 'the little things', I mean things that could be easily done better but aren't in Fiesta, for example that quest items go to players that don't need them on sequential, or that shops don't auto-close when all items got sold / bought or the owner of a buy shop doesn't have enough money (this also allows players to scam more easily, and being scamed makes players quit again)

- general lack of updates, I know this is not Outspark's fault and they don't develop the game, yet it still makes many players quit... some have a bug, it doesn't get fixed for months (sometimes it's not even addressed by one of the GMs), they quit; the GM team is kind of active, but they are rather doing events and joke around with the rest of the community, which is a good thing, but still doesn't replace permanently updating the players about what's being worked on and where the problems lie and how to go around the bug until it's fixed etc.; just look at the known issues section and read all the threads, is that a complete list of all problems in the game? does each thread give enough information about the problem? are we told which of the problems are being worked on? which have the top priority? when they will probably be fixed? no...
The GMs clearly lack information theirselves and it's probably not their fault, but you have to grant the players when they think "If the developer is in Korea and the communication between the developer and Outspark is this bad, what kind of service can we even expect here?"

So my point is, remove these problems and you'll attract much more players that will stay with the game a much longer time.

Kingdom Quests
The community
Shiny weapons *o*
Great graphics
Easy-to-understand gameplay (pretty straight forward)
Story-based quests
Job change (it's not just "go collect xx amount of xx")
Mushrooms! And when we can go inside it too.
Great emotes and dances

hmmm what makes us diffrent or perhaps better even

well the daily events and close relationship of GM's and the community
the community and the players itself
the graphics are nice
the controls aren't overly complicated nor is the interface unlike DOMO omg the interfaced was terrible
kingdom quests never seen a game with those before
the riders you can have and the minihouses never seen one with them either

Sure, they can advertise more but let me ask y'all this: how's the word of mouth? How did YOU find ths game? Did someone tell you about it or did you see an advert somewhere and try it out? Maybe I'll add a poll to make things a little easier...

Back to the original question. I don't know what makes it "different" from other free online games because this is the first and only one I've ever played and the only thing I'd look for in a different game is more different places to explore and treasures to find.

I found this game because my kid wanted to play an online game as her cousin was and was hoping to be able to join him in play in the game. We couldn't remember the name of the game he was playing so we googled free online games and the graphics shown on this one looked good. Not too bloody, not to sexy suited for all ages and seemingly monitored by GM's. So, being a careful mom, I checked it out myself. The poor kid hardly has a chance to get on the pc to play her account now! I loved the graphics, I loved the way you played and increased in skill and levels, I loved the houses and rides and kq's and I still love the way you might accidentally bump into a GM in game, (not just during an event which I don't particularly like since they interfere with my game play). Then I fell in love with the community. If only we could make the whole world like this, with people from all nations joining together with a common goal, getting to know one another and forming friendships despite our differences! WOW!
Now let me tell you why I almost left. I disliked the way vulgarity and offensive behaviour was seldom dealt with, and still feel that way, but what almost turned me off was the whole lack of communication between the powers that be and the players during this Euro snafu. What kept me coming back was wanting to be with the friends I would soon lose for as long as I could. What has me and my kid still here today is the fact you guys heard us and fixed the situation, at least for now. Free game or not, we do support you with our purchases and we really felt abused during that problem. What could get me to leave? It gets deadly boring at the higher levels where you have little to do besides help newbies and grind, grind, grind. Even the quests are boring. I mean, do we really need to kill a hundred or more of the same monster to fill a quest? Boring.

How to draw more people? Happy consumers will make the game grow. We've already brought two other people in to it and undoubtedly will bring in more. More Youtube trailers might be good too.

I got here myself because a friend told me this game is good, I quit it the first 3 seconds because of the gold spamers, then my friend said "At least play it at least until you do one Kingdom Quest" so I leveled up to level 9 and did my first Kingdom Quest and since then I was convinced that Fiesta is awesome and I told all my friends about this special Kingdom Quest feature. Some of my friends started playing it as well, we all quit together at level 26 because of that 'dead level' spot (before quest exp increase and with only 3 Golden Hill KQs that always were full).

I also see Fiesta advertisement often, though. Gamigo is also going to strongly advertise the game (this will also have an effect on this Fiesta).

If a friend would now ask me how this game is like I'd tell him "From the game design it sure is the best F2P MMORPG out there, however the downside is that the game developers are really slow with bugfixing and updates".

The kingdom quest and the great community here :p

Ditto

Also, while there are other games within this anime-like "genre", I think Fiesta just hits closer to home. Fiesta's own brand of monsters, the particular dance moves the characters have/get.

To me it's a little hard to explain because except for the Kindom Quests, it isn't something Fiesta has, that no one else has. It's just the way Fiesta took a lot of the little things and, to me, made them better than other games.

I would say, specifically, the look that the characters were given is a great balance of realistic cartoonism(You can say, wow look at the hotty:p and at the same time it has the childish cartoon cutesy look. The maps seem a very comfortable size to me. I like big, but not too spaced out, and Fiesta has that. It's not like mile-wide walkways that are there for no reason so they end up staying like a ghost town.

But yeah, this community is the best MMO community, hands down, thumbs up.

THe Kingdom Quest is definatley the best part of Fiesta... there isin't any other game that has anything like it, it makes everyone work together... if one cleric or fighter slacks off, it makes it hard for everyone... and the fact that the GMs aren't invisible unless you are about to get banned, and they play fun games with the community...
my other thing i like the fact that there aren't millions of people playing fiesta, its a relativley small, underground game, so you know and make friends with just bout everyone that plays on your server...

ummm I followed my bf here :P I have since got a few other people to come however none of them have stayed. Fiesta did make an attempt to resolve the problem by putting the marketplace in Roumen but they didnt go far enough. The first hour on Fiesta is a night mare, all you see are gold spammers, you have no real instructions as to how things work etc.

A new set of maps for new members like a *training ground* would be awesome. Quests that teach you how to:

Use shops
Sell to NPC's
Where to buy skills and how to use them
Production skills
Explain the mob colour system

DONT allow broadcasting to stop gold spammers scaring people off.

This game is totally awesome and has some amazing features to it, yet I myself never discovered some of them till long after I was beyond being called a noob :D

Something I read a long time ago that still holds true is:

1 unhappy player tells 10 friends, those 10 friends repeat to 10 friends, pretty soon the game has a bad name. This also works in reverse. 1 happy player tells 10 friends, those 10 friends repeat to 10 friends, pretty soon the game has a good name. BUT

A players first introduction to Fiesta needs to be more user friendly.

Well, the only game that I played so far that we players get to clear quests with the help of group members or solo. Other MMORPGs are mostly individuals.

I agree with kalone, the gig is us. Our community is excellent, and as new users sign up to enjoy the game, they also create new generations of people. Those people get the same quests, and end up grinding in the same spots, and over time, you see the same users over and over..
I've noticed one thing with other MMOs where you can just talk to an NPC and get the quest or not talk to the NPC and not get the quest.. Here, there are about 3-10 quests you can get per level, and you really should get them all.. This does create a sense of closeness with other users because they get the same quests.

That's my favorite part about Fiesta and I really hope they never change this. :)

How to make fiesta have a bigger community:
Honestly, I've had people sign up and I've had to beg them to just level up a little bit and get a feel for the game because of the gold spammers. A lot of new users don't know to right click the names. I didn't know until I did it on accident one day, I don't even know why I continued playing to be honest..
And I don't really know why everyone is saying the KQs? I only go into KQs if my party is going or I'm finishing a quest.. :O
Honestly, I think it's the simplicity of the game that you guys should advertise. This game is the easiest most basic controls of any MMO I've played.. You also don't have to be in a party to finish quests (although it's sometimes nice when you have to kill a hundred chickens) and you can play single, although you'd be at a disadvantage.

I'm just going to suggest advertising that the game is suitable for all ages, because it definitely is. And I've seen a lot of mothers and fathers enjoying the game with their kids. :D

theres so much i cant possibly say it all
1. Awesome gameplay and graphics
2. your playing with real live people
3. green weps. weps with no extra stats or just the regular damage are boooooring
4.You actually see the GM's in the game in adventurequest and those games they're only in the forums
5.Guilds who doesnt like teamwork among friends in these u can be helped by ur friends and have friendly fights to the death with other guilds that some of ur friends might be in

I don't think I've posted here lol, or at least I couldn't find any posts of mine.

Anyways Fiesta is different from many MMO's, though I haven't played many the ones I have made a huge impact on how I view MMO's and what I look for in them.

1. Kingdom Quests: This is different then what I have ever seen in MMO's I have played.
2. Community: Now I must admit that this community is different from my last one and well it may be close-knit, but a loser kinda close-knit I must admit. The last MMO I played had a much much more close-knit community then this one. As hard as it is to believe it was much more close-knit, but then again they were the ones that actually made the game and there wasn't any other company supplying everything, so the CEO and such had much more time to interact with the community. I liked it, but I like Fiesta's just as much, though I feel it has kinda slacked off, but still it is there.
3.In-game Admin: Not so much now because I have to continue to remind myself that things have changed much. It is nice to have someone that is actually being paid to do it because they get information much quicker and such. Though they are just people they are also much more then that and it is nice that they interact with the community, like stated above it reminds me much of my last MMO that I played about a year ago.

Basically the biggest difference is Kingdom Quests because I've never seen anything like it. The community is decent because very few MMOs have a decent community and the GMs are great because well let's face it many MMOs are switching from such methods for whatever reason there is. Other then that, Fiesta has many qualities of many MMOs, such as, cash shop, graphics, bugs, etc. =.= If it wasn't for the 3 things I stated I'm sure Fiesta wouldn't be as big as it is.

The introduction was nice enough, but as soon as I entered an area with other players, I was invited to five duels with high-leveled players (In a newbie area) had someone attempt to scam me, faced with a non-turn-off-able spam-advertisements for user shops, and got harassed by some punk.
Oh, yeah. I had to click the "play game" button every two percents it downloaded when the game was patching, and then the game was trying to tell me that someone with a 1337 name was, in fact, my soul mate.
Then my computer crashed.

I can hardly remember my first experience with Fiesta, but I recall staying up till 3:00 AM chatting and dancing with friendly players.
To be honest, I have seen many people talk about other MMORPGs being better games, but they pretty much judge this on the amount of grinding in Fiesta. I have found nothing that beats this community.

I love the 3D graphics. Just wish it didn't eat so much RAM...
