how to tick the "anti-aliasing"

The game told me to click apply and restart , but after restarting the game, it's still off.* Btw, What is anti-aliasing for?* Try to explain in a simple way, i'm not native English speaker.

Anti-Aliasing 'softens' the edges of objects in the game. It won't make much difference to you except to slow the game down (unless you have a mega GFX card) and I would suggest you leave it off.
