so if i were to say purchase the cowboy suit i would only have it in game for 7 days or 30 days? it wouldnt stay with me forever?

Yeah the only way to get a permanent item is through a lucky balls. Most items are 7 or 30 day real life time.
This thread lists the permanent gear, but be warned you can also get pots, exp. enhancers or emotes.
