A tank doesn't necessarily need full END. A good solo fighter in my opinion would be 1 END:1 STR. But personally, I would go with Pure End or 2 End:1 Str because Fighters are strong enough w/o Str. I also like alot of HP.

... I don't know how many times I've said this but...
There is no best build for a fighter...
With that said, DDing is a good way to go because of the damage you do, but you do lose out on HP...
I shouln't even be typing this. I should just say search the forums before you post one of these threads up. Theres already tons of these waiting to be read.
SO SEARCH BEFORE YOU POST PEOPLE!!!
Geez.

agreed you need to find a build that matches you and equips that boost other stats, also try to grind ti get exp so you can learn how to use your fighter

For soloing, I'd suggest either full STR or 25 SPR rest STR. If you are soloing, you should be more worried about how fast you kill something, so you'll want to do as much damage as possible. Also, try to find gear with END on it to make up for the loss of HP DEF. It's possible to still be that awesome tank, if you need to be, with the right gear, even without putting a single point into END.

Wouldn't a good solo tank go all END and then use a twohanded axe to make up for the lack of damage as a pure END build?

That would be one way to go, yes. However, you'd do a bunch more damage as a full STR. Either way works. I'm just saying that my opinion is that a soloist shoule be worried about killing one target fast, rather than being able to tank alot.

I think generaldave's opinion is good. Once you hit a high level (say level 60) you'll probably kill twice as fast as a full end level 60. This means that even if you're taking in more damage from monsters, you're killing twice as fast which means they don't get the chance to hit you for as long as hittting a full end which means a full str and full end will basically take a similar total amount of damage anyway. But that's just my opinion. I'm currently 5x (full str), I have some END gear and I can still tank boss monsters like Mini Dragon in the MD kq(lv46 - 60).
So my advice: the same as generaldave.
