That's just it...after uninstall, clearing VM and reinstalling...still can't connect...I have the latest version of the client after checking (and rechecking) here on the forums... and still no dice.
It looked like a nice game...the splash screen is pretty....but uh...I wonder how the game is?
Oh well...

Check your firewall/anti-virus to see if they are giving Fiesta full access.

Thanx for the response and advice....
But same thing...I actually went the extra mile and just shut the firewall completely off too to see if it was a conflict but the message, "Connection to the servers has failed." is all I get :/ .

:( I guess that's it then, no response from anyone official...

What do you mean you can't connect? What exactly is the error and when do you get it? have you been able to play other games comparable to Fiesta? (I.E. WoW, Maplestory, etc)

Just like that, this is the only one that refuses respond/connect to the servers... and yes quite a few other internet games and applications all run great...that's what I mean. And quite frankly now I'm beginning to get pissed off...
I load the game and get this:

Turn you firewall and make sure it's configurated properly. Also make sure you have a stable internet connection. I've had the same error before and it was because I hadn't properly configured my firewall to allow Fiesta access to the internet.

I have this issue as well.
I have my firewall completely turned off, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Fiesta multiple times and my internet connection is fine, but it still says it can't connect to the servers.

I'm having the same problem and apologies for hijacking this post. Have just bought a new computer and been playing on old computer without any problems. New computer OS is Vista Home Premium. I know this isn't the problem as my wife's laptop has the same OS and she isn't experiencing problems when playing fiesta.
I am using Norton 360, which my wife is using and both machines have identical rules. I have disabled Norton 360 but this didn't make any difference.
The outspark.exe.log reads as follows:
<function launcher_startup at 0x032DF030><function launcher_startup at 0x03433830>fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
fiesta
I don't think the log file helps any. I can post my dxdiag.txt if it helps!
I really enjoy playing Fiesta and this is really frustrating me. Any suggestions would be appreciated :)

No really, its fine! Hijack away! I would like to see this problem addressed!
And to answer windrider:
Yep did that, reinstall etc...same deal man.
My version is XP, drivers are updated as of last week, all other 'net apps run fine... and my machine can run Crysis at High settings with no frame-lag so memory/hardware can't be the issue (but I checked anyway and had no errors or conflicts.)
:Update:
@Pacman:
That log file you just described? After starting to tear apart this app to figure out just what the h#ll its doing wrong...I found something interesting in the "Launcher" file.
There's a *text* file called fiesta.exe (not a log file says specifically fiesta.exe) in mine that says exactly what you posted in your log...a bunch of fiesta's... My guess is maybe thats the tag to launch a server side remote executable but I'm probably wrong...or maybe its XP's version of a log file (just for this game)...because all the other programs use the *.log extenstion...oh and the actual *.exe is AWOL..absolutely no fiesta.exe is present on this machine after a full search....
Either way...***** don't work.
Anyway try looking in your ../Program Files (or wherever you put it)/Outspark/Launcher , directory and see if you got the same thing....it won't help much but the mystery goes further.. is the *.exe file out on a damn fiesta whilst the rest of the program looks on longing to go as well?
..ya know, since I have yet to see a response from any of the dev's/admin of this game...3 days later.
(I'm starting to hate that pink rat at initial launch now after several tests on firewall exceptions on a damn text file and a residual bianary files, its MOCKING me...)

Still no frikkin' response...? Is there another way of submitting this issue to the powers that be? Their actual ticketing system leaves much to be desired and does not have a function to ADD actual issues other than minor things that pertain to in-game or commerce issues.

Fiesta.bin is the executable you're looking for actually.
Seen right before the server select screen:
Fiesta.bin:3372 TCP uberdopey:4102 211.115.86.66:2424 SYN_SENT
Fiesta.bin:3372 TCP uberdopey:4101 211.43.208.219:2424 FIN_WAIT1
this is how it looks on TCPView when Fiesta's at the server select screen:
Fiesta.bin:2980 TCP uberdopey:4098 64.127.118.7:9010 ESTABLISHED
The local source ports are random. uberdopey is the name of my computer. ;)
Basically, Fiesta.bin should be allowed to communicate outbound from any port, to any IP, any port.
Some routers have the ability to be configured more restrictively than "normal." If you have one, you may want to check that its firewall settings are set to the default (or medium, for most).
Also, try to ping and tracert to 64.127.118.7
I'm also wondering about these lines you posted from your outspark log:
<function launcher_startup at 0x032DF030><function launcher_startup at 0x03433830>
I do not see them in my log. Possibly a clue. In the lower-right corner of your launcher, what version does it show?
shadowstormxiii
07-29-2008, 07:24 PM
You know what... that helps...let me go take a look I think I did allocate the *.bin file a little while after that last post I nailed up here and still got the same error...I also remember checking the ver. # right before I started all of this to begin with and made sure it matched...I'll check again...standby...
Edit:
Ok yeah, I did enable fiesta.bin to the exceptions list earlier on and my version shows 1.5.100, thats the latest one right?
Router settings on default as well. I even went the extra mile and added the same *.bin file to the exceptions list to the router as well...
Same message.
Edit again:
Also just to make sure were both on the same page, the file size for the fiesta.bin is 3.46MB... (or 3,548 KB). I'm wondering if it got corrupted some kinda way...can you also confirm that this file size matches yours?
evilotakuneko

Launcher should say 1.5.100

Let's get back to the basics here before you go off course.
Connection = Cable, Wireless, Firewall, etc etc
Not Drivers, Ram, Processor or anything else.
Outspark Launcher and Fiesta.bin file are two different things.
Just because you can launch the game and patch, doesn't mean you can enter the servers.
Entering the servers above requires "Fiesta.bin" granted full access through a firewall.
If you have a firewall, you'll get these types of errors with any game or any program that connects to the internet.
Which firewall program are you using? How do you know it's off?
Windows Vista is completely different because it has it's own built in firewall.
Windows Vista must be run in compatibility mode
Right Click on Launcher> Select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR> Select "ALLOW"
evilotakuneko
07-29-2008, 07:35 PM
Windows XP has a firewall as well, though if a 3rd party one is installed, usually the 3rd party firewall will automatically disable the XP firewall. XP and Vista's firewalls are both inbound only though, no outbound control at all.
Come to think of it what does Fiesta do when run without admin? I think it'd die with an x-trap error, but I've never tried it. ;)

Not using Vista, XP Professional, I have tried both *completely* disabling the firewall (by closing out the Windows firewall entirely, and additionally the ActiveArmor Firewall). I've also gone as far as temporarily removing from systray to ensure that its completely shut down while I'm trying all this. And then of course turning windows firewall back on and adding to the exceptions list...and yes I've tried removing the router from the mix and I'm still getting the same error....this issue is 3 days old and I've been actively trying to figure this out.
Take a look at my previous post edits.

File size is the same. MD5 sum: 1E28E24E38EAAC4F931BF7C48A2E5C6A
Hmm. I've never used Nvidia's ActiveArmor. If the same problem occurs with or without the router, and with AA disabled, there has to be something else in the way either on the PC or in between you the fiesta servers.

..dammit, I thought for sure something was corrupted...if the file size matches and even the checksum then...
I'm tapped :/. I'll mull it over for awhile...
OH wait another thing!...is there any particular port that this game HAS to use? ...'cause I know my ISP is funny with port 80...(its mainly attached to SMTP but I'm reaching now.)
Either way, I do really appreciate the help.
Its my birthday tomorrow so I'm gonna go take a break for awhile...I'll come back and see if you guys have anything new to add later on tomorrow.
Thanx boss.

I do not believe it needs to listen on a particular port on your machine (wouldn't or rather, shouldn't, be random on the client side then). Judging from what tcpview it obviously connects on port 9010 to get the list of servers. Being above 1024 it should not be blocked by any ISP worth the name.
I'm somewhat suspicious of that nvidia firewall software though. Googling it comes up with a disproportionate number of angry users. Granted you could google practically any firewall and find angry users with problems.
pssst... Port 80's http. SMTP's 25 ;) Most ISPs don't like allowing either inbound, as that indicates customers running often verboten web and email servers.

As previously mentioned I'm having the same problem. It's not the IP block in my case as I've been playing since before last Christmas and no one else in my house is having the same problem. I am using Vista Home Premium on my new computer and Norton 360.
I know its not the router that is causing the problem as my wife and daughter are still playing without any problems.
We are all using Norton 360 and thats not causing the problem as I've checked the settings against my Wifes Laptop who is also using Vista Home Premium.
I have previously posted the output of the outspark.exe.txt file within this thread.
Thought I would clarify my previous post.

If they were being blocked they would get a message saying that the service wasn't available due to there being a local one.
lol u nub its being maintenance ^^
This thread was created way before the maintenance last night. Thus this problem was active before the servers went down. Do please try to read things fully before making assumptions and calling people names.

@shadowstorm: I thought of something else that might be causing issues. The offload checksum setting on many NICs has been known to cause strange, nigh untraceable problems with a variety of software. It's located under your network card's properties:
http://dallion.homeip.net/screen/screenshot_010.png
As you can see on my computer it's currently set on. If yours is on, try disabling it. If disabled, try enabling it.
Other than that, all I can really think of is:
1. The nvidia firewall is, in fact, still causing problems even when closed. Uninstall would be the only solution here.
2. There is some other software on the PC preventing the connection. What else is running in the background?
3. (Least likely) There is some ISP interference going on. Who's your ISP?
Oh and, happy bday.

I can now login and connect to a server. On closer inspection of the firewall rules on my computer and my wifes laptop, I did discover differences between the two machines and have applied the missing bits to my computer resolve the connection problem that I was experiencing. My rules were set to use any port, too and from any computer but the other machine was set to specific ports for both the fiesta.bin and outspark launcher. The port numbers that have now been setup on my machine are as follows:
fiesta.bin rule 1
Allow connections to other computers, allow TCP on all ports, local and remote.
fiesta.bin rule 2
Allow connections to other computers, allow TCP/UDP on remote port 53.
outspark.exe rule 1
Allow connections to other computers, allow TCP/UDP on remote port 53
outspark.exe rule 2
Allow connections to other computers, allow TCP on remote http port 80.
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, I now have another problem. I will create a new thread rather the swamping this thread.

@Evilotakuneko & Pacman70:
Good news! Before I tried any alterations to my network adapter settings I tried the launcher....it briefly updated and now it connects...(Funny though the version number remained the same...probably a bug...?)
Might have been a server-side issue but overall it works now...I really appreciate the intelligent brain-pool of minds...its not often I run into someone that knows just what the heck they are doing...
I think I'll go ahead and ditch the Nvidia firewall anyway though...its always off anyway and my hardware firewall more than makes up for the software based ones.
Thanx for the birthday wishes too...had a blast Wed. and got tied up playing Soul Calibur IV up until now.
Thanx again!
If something else comes up or I come up with anything that might come of some assistance later on I'll post another thread.

Open on your firewall:
port 2424
port 9010
port 9210
port 9222
and ofcurse http(80), dns(53)
I have win XP with internal firewall and hardware firewall on our LAN (I changed ports on hardware firewall)
Works.

The strange thing with my connection problem is that i can enter the servers BIJOU & APOLINE but not TEVA & EPITH.
And i'm only playing on the Epith server, this problem startet after last patch.
I hope this will be fixed soon since i don't know what happends when inventory bought from sparkcash times out, maybe it will be spit out of storage when i get access again.:)

At least you see the cat/rat!!! I have made several posts (including full documentation and screen shots) and so far haven't seen any response from anyone. All I get is the initial login screen but no graphics--just a white screen telling me it can't connect to the internet. My job for the last 22 years has been PC/Mac OS and software support (yes, i'm an "old" gamer! lol) and I know what the heck I'm doing on these things (yes, in my experience Macs have more problems than PCs, especially in the last few years ). But I can't figure this thing out! It's p!ss!ng me off!!!!
