Okie, So basically yesterday I was trying to add another 512 MB RAM card to my comp, Sadly it wasn't compatible with my Comp. (Lame) Anyway, I put back in my original 512 MB RAM and rebooted.... Had some trouble actually getting the comp to start back up.

Then I ran Fiesta and it was going EXTREMELY slow I mean like... Loading the Character select page literally (No exaggeration) took about a half hour.

So then I checked out my CPU Usage and it was going between 100% - 97% And now I'm stumped. Doesn't make any sense why Fiesta would be doing that to my computer.

The Physical Memory isn't different at all - Same RAM as before, I didn't edit any Software settings, didn't mess with the paging files limit, etc, etc. Basically there's no reason in my mind that this should be happening as nothing was changed.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Fiesta always seems to run at 100% cpu. It did it on both of my slower machines and it does it on my new machine.

Does anything ELSE run slower than usual?

Eh, It usually runs at like 60-80% normally for me. In any case, no. this is happening with several other games that normally run perfectly fine.

It's not isolated.

Make sure DMA is enabled for your hard drive. Sometimes after even re-seating things, Windows will revert to the ancient and slow PIO.

It sounds like something may be funky with the ram you put back in. My theory is because of the following:

Your computer will have a hard time booting and may even beep because of a faulty or loose ram card.

If the card is funky (still there, but not working to it's full potential) then your computer will have to use more page file to compensate for the missing ram (hence the overburdened cpu)

Also, I attempted to run fiesta on a machine I KNOW doesn't have enough ram, and the same symptoms occur.

With that being said, you may want to remove and re-seat your ram card again.

You sound like you have a bit of computer knowledge, but just incase, be sure to be properly grounded when you do this, static electricity is the enemy of computer parts.

Yeah, I've also tried that.

The funky thing is that in the my comp properties it says I have 504 MB of RAM which makes no sense, as the RAM card is 512 by itself, and my Graphics Card should provide about 200 and something.

When I was trying to get the other RAM Card in I was forcibly trying to do it (Haha, I know stupid) somehow I got it to latch in and that's when I was having bootup trouble. But I'm sure part of it was actually in, I dunno if this could have damaged the computer in any physical way.

Edited... Yay...

Ultimately the (Simplest) way to handle it would be getting more RAM basically?

Does your motherboard have integrated video? Make sure it's disabled.

If it doesn't, and Windows is reporting 504MB when there should be 512, something is definitely wrong hardware-wise.

Well, The integrated Video Card shouldn't have anything to do with it as it would have been enable previously, when it was working. So - Sum everything up and it turns out that it's a hardware problem.
