It makes you recover HP over time. In other words it takes a bit longer to heal, but in exchange it heals a bit more in total.

once learned is this always happening or do you have to drink some sort of pot occasionally? If so how longs it last or is it perminant?

It lasts ~15 seconds I think.

The HP regen potion (T1) will recover 12 HP every second for 15 seconds [by memory :) check the item's description in game for the details].

So its NOT something learned, its something *drinked* :) and no not permanent either.

Clerics have a spell that do pretty much the same as well [do not remember the name of it. I am a bad cleric :(]

Skill is called Recovery I think. :-)

Is ti like the restore pot that it has to regenerate between castings. Like lets say I cast it and it's regenerating me. Does it regenerate everytime I lose HP or does it have to recharge between regenerations.

Is it sort of like an HP restore pot but on automatic?

We told you already, when you use it the duration is 15 seconds, the effect will disappear after that no matter if you were full or not. If you use it when you are full you are only wasting it and won't get any healing at all.

Yeah I got that. What I asked though was how it works. You say it lasts for 15 seconds. Fine I am say down to 2HP I drink it. will it fill me to the top of lets say for arguments sake 500HP top. But then lates say the monster I am fighting hits me for 250HP damage still within the 15 seconds. Will this then top me off again or what? This is what I want to know before I start wasting materials on these pots.

No if your hp is down to 2 and you use regeneration pot..
And if a monster hits you again for example 250. You'll die if the HP pot hasn't already healed you over 250 Hp.
Meaning those pots are only useful if your not being constantly attacked by monsters ^^
It'll be useful when your (for example)
Kiting a mob of monsters.
You get whacked 1/2 HP but your still running
The regeneration pot will continually heal your hp until the 12 seconds is up
Than you get hit again you can use your normal HP pots while still being healed by regeneration pot ^_^
Kinda the same deal with Restore and heal and rejuvenation

Actually the reply is yes, Hikorii didn't get your question right, although what she said is true as well. :-)

Let's say you have 80/100 HP and you use the Regeneration Potion then it will go like this:

92/100 HP (1st second)
100/100 HP (2nd second)
100/100 HP (3rd second)
--- Monster hits you for 50 HP ---
50/100 HP (4th second)
62/100 HP (5th second)
74/100 HP (6th second)
86/100 HP (7th second)
98/100 HP (8th second)
100/100 HP (9th second)
100/100 HP (10th second)
100/100 HP (11th second)
100/100 HP (12th second)
--- Monster hits you for 50 HP ---
50/100 HP (13th second)
62/100 HP (14th second)
74/100 HP (15th second)
--- Potion effect stops here ---
74/100 HP

Ok, it seems like the REAL question is not answered yet.

On your question if it will top you of from 2hp to 500, the answer is no.

A regen pot heals 12hp for 15 (if i remember correct) seconds and thats that. If it only heals to 100, it will disappear and you will ahve to pop another regen pot to get more HP.

IMO these regen pots is a waste and the normal heal pots are way better.

The regeneration pots heal more in total than the normal potions so they are good to conserve money when leveling.

No they don't :(

At least, not at tiers 1 and 2.

Tier one is 12 HP for 15 seconds. That's 180 HP vs a standard tier 1 HP pot's 250 HP. Tier 2 is 33 HP for 15 seconds. 495 HP against 650 from a normal tier 2 HP pot.

To top it all off they don't even save on resources if you make them yourself. Tier 1 HP regen pots use a vanished sign in place of a tough meat and tier 2 ones use a sage instead of a geranium.

Can't make tier 3 ones yet, but I'm pretty sure they won't regenerate more than 1450 HP anyway. They really do need some sort of incentive to use them. Only use them if I get them for free and even then, only if I need HP/SP before I see an NPC :D

Hm I think the total recovery is actually higher than that. Please check it ingame instead of calculating it if you haven't done that yet.

Also I can sell tough meat for 10c each easily but vanished signs don't even sell for 5c, so they are kind of cheaper. :p

Just used a tier 1 regen pot. Went from 618 to 798 out of 1,234 HP. So the tier 1 version is correct. Would have tested a tier 2 one as well, but cursor lag decided I used it instead of moving an item >_>

Also, gib low sign prices. Hobs and the like are so stingy. Comping some signs of trace for 80 copper would be fantastic XD
