After I log in and select my character and try to begin playing all that appears is a black screen..any help ?

Try reinstalling the OutSpark exe, it might have had an error during the patch.

It must be your graphics card, try re-installing once more just to make sure.

Please update your video drivers. usually this problem goes away when you install a fresh new set of video drivers.
Look at the bottom of this page for the major video card manufacturers: http://solstice.outspark.com/support/download
