I find the apprentice branch partying/duoing with others a lot faster.
Since as a magic using class that'll need bunches and bunches of mana points for each skill. They can't seem to spam the skill fast enough unless they add mentality. It'll take some time to solo kill whatever monster they're killing.
As a app in a party, even though exp seems less, you can kill a lot faster with party member's help and waste not as much mp as soloing.

um also i got another question. Does it mater the level of the party members lets says some are level 30s and im level 25 still it works?? i have tried the party in a group of 7 but it seemed slower than when i was alone...

same here, the exp gathered is much slower. I guess it depends on the mobs' levels and your party's lvl also

I soloed when I was under lv 50...
Then I started partying in Loren, and the exp there is fast. Solo was last resort. XD
But I guess it depends on what you like most... Party may be slower but it's less boring, solo is boring sometimes, which can make you feel like it's slower. (I hope this made some sense x.x)

As far as levels go, when you're partying, try not to party with anyone more than 10 levels higher than you, because at that point the experience you get will be greatly reduced. I think the best method of training an apprentice is a nice duo, or a trio. You have some people with you so the monster dies faster, you can kill more at a time, you don't use quite as many pots, and because there aren't too many of you the experience you gain should still be decent. When you're in this grouping trying going for the light pinkish monsters as well. Know your limits though! :O
Don't be afraid of big parties every now and then though, as they can be a lot of fun. When you're in a huge party with a good aco maybe even keep walking until the monsters get dark pink and red for a fun day of pure pwnge.
Remember though, mixing it up keeps things fun and every method of training has its advantages.
Good luck! ^.^

Partying is faster unless it is a big party and they kill slow.. I suggest to limit the member to duo or trio max up to 4 players.. DON'T BOTHER about the bonus of adding different classes, that are just nonsense to me.. MORE PLAYERS = LESS EXP, the additional bonus can't compensate the exp loss.. The best combination at low level is two long range attackers (mage+archer or mage+mage), with a tanker and a healer.. If you want to duo, go with mage or archer, DON'T EVER go with healer unless the healer is really good in which I doubt because most healers at low level are lack in experience handling a low hp mage.. Even some lvl 90+ are still suck in healing and kept causing problem to others..
Solo is better than duo with healer.. Arrest has a long cooldown, you can arrest one mob and if extra mobs attack your healer, he/she will most probably die, unless he/she knows how to timing spirit, obli or ghost steal effectively.. AND DON'T PARTY with a WHINER!!
<sry, a little bit emo, I just hate healers who whine a lot when they die due to their own mistake.. I only trust some of the healers out there who basically the best.. I'm sure every mage has their own particular healer whom they trust the most>
PS: mage = apprentice or wiz , archer = scout.. Pls get hang on those term..

i must say. i prefer solo or duo. i am killing white monsters who just give 0.1% each time but since there so frigging easy to kill i can kill them very fast (means less mana for me). they will then drop more items for vendoring.
if not i prefer doing a duo with my RL friend most since he is a archer and we can slow a monster down so it almost doesnt moves (and its super for ranged classes like us)
but for me i like the soloing part most. was duoing with a scout and he didnt wana make the loot to divide and before monster died he runned to monster to be first to kill and after 10 minuts what dropped if not a xen and that made me mad so ill never be going to duo again with a person i dunt know :D
the few big parties i have tried was boring. caotic and wasnt as fun as i thought. try just go with friends you maybe have started to know ;P

yes i agree with foger. but also u should also find a scout or another mage to duo with because the faster kills ans less use of pots over a short time

I just want to say right now, Mentality does not increase attack speed. My friend who is an App used a reset card and added everything to Men. He attacked just as fast. So it does not work.

any of the basic 4 classes in my opinion where meant to party for fastest xp past 50+(app, neo, knight, aco) as they all support each other. i believe only the hybrid classes are meant for main xp gain solo. scout=mage/neo. disc=knight/aco.not that i saying partying with scout or disc is not ideal as thats what i think the 20% bonus for 2 of same class is for... as incentive for solo hybrid to party.not for having 2 rogues or 2 acos but rather for having aco and disc or neo and scout in same party. solo for me is just an option for when i broke or no good partys around. not main way of lving

This is interesting. Has anyone done a similar experiment? What was your observation?
I am asking because I was just hanging out with Omega in Chant this morning. We have the same level, but he is full-INT, whilst I have a bit more MEN. He does 50+ more damage than I do, being full-INT and recently xenned his staff. However, I kill just as fast. The only possibility is that my casting speed is faster.
I was wearing the Pirate Cloak of Speed though, which helps attack speed ... but I believe it refers to physical attacks only, not magical. Please correct me if I am wrong. :o

Int/men is faster than Pure INT but not by much.. Adding men is good for skill criticals and casting speed but I think it is not worth it to do so.. You say you kill as fast as him but you casted extra skill which cost you more mp = more pot wasted.. I don't think pirate cloak of speed adds attk speed because jombur cast as fast as me all the time.. We both pure INT but he has the cloak..
Haha I think Int/sta is the best hybrid build at the moment.. You need more hp to stay alive at phil over 3 hits.. 400+ hp at 100+ is not safe enough to help you unless you are very good soloist and know how to survive in tight situation (3 or 4 aggros attacking at the same time).. 10 sta will give extra 100+ hp which is significant enough to help you live..
Pure INT is still the best after many experiments ^^

So this turned from a party or soloing discussion to a build discussion thread???? interesting =P
well anyway i have soloed for over 80 lvls so far only getting into parties to get to really high lvl areas or to play with my friends
and i can say that at least for the first 70 lvls mages dont have the need for parties and you get to see that because you can get to really hard areas and solo there and get good decent exp while killing relatively fast
after lvl 75 or so exp starts to drop and if oyu cant get your self to sherwood i suggest you start to party to get exp faster
as has been stated the best combo is to party with other mages or archers 2 or 3 man parties wirk the best especialy when oyu are on close lvls no more then 5 lvl dif
as far as the builds go i can say that men does increase casting speed and you see a considerable effect on it after you add 30 points =P (i made a little experiment) and that little mage hits about 2 times faster than a mage and .03 slower than a scout with a men based build the great drawback is that it hits for very low dmg which is really a shame
on the bright side i do regen about 40mp at lvl 47 and that is a lot for having about 230 max mp so its more or less up to your choice
an hybrid of men wis and int has proved to be a very useful lvling method for me at least since i hit about 50 points less than a full int and i regen nearly 35 mp every time i cast 6 spells (to those who dont know this happens due to kiting)
by the way my experiment mage doesnt have ap or enhanced staffs so its dmg is stock and i hit about 200-170 at lvl 47 average maybe a bit more depends but im able to cast 9 times per ice so i do see it as a good advantage tough the men used for it is actually a lot

I received the men +6 buff from Ariatos today and indeed men increase casting speed.. During the buff, I had +8 men and I managed to cast 9 lvl 3 fires instead of 8 per ice in Phil..
I experimented with 30 men before but I disappointed with the speed and the loss of damage.. Not as fast as I would have imagined and the loss of damage of 100-200 in comparison to pure int was too much to bear..
Int men wis is a new one to me because I never tested that one before.. The other hybrid build tested by cdar and Amer was Int men sta.. They said stamina allows them to get hit more than 4 times and it helps them to survive in tight situation..
Anyway, like I said many times, there are no exact good build.. Just believe in your build and use it effectively.. I have my own build, Amer, cdar, Lahar and fire have their own build and they use them effectively.. Do ask any of us and we will surely help.

Duoing with a scout/archer is the most beneficial...
but i better stop myself from elaborating that phrase into a page long post since time forbids...
^^;;
