I hope I get a sword when I finally start play, but I guess I can only hope.So write down the knid of weapon you want and maybe someone will tell you where one is.

Quick breakdown of weapons.... Each class starts with a weapon, with a more powerful one at level 8 and 15 that can be bough from the weapon smith, or from quests, and can be changed at level 20 to a different one, or can continue using the same type.

On Completion of you level 20 job class quest you can get another weapon, given as a reward.

Archers: Bow, changeable to crossbow
Clerics: Mace, changeable to hammer
Fighters: Sword, Changeable to axe
Mage: Cane, changeable to staff I believe or vice versa

Only choice you have before level 20 is how much you enchant it.

thanks for clearing it up, haven't played a mage since CB1, and only used him in CB2 to make scrolls
