Does anyone know the rate of break or downgrade. From what I can tell the rate of failure seems to be far more favorable to failure then success. It may be common knowledge to most players that have been playing a while but im rather new to the game. Anyways to date the best i've been able to do is +4 on a LvL 15 weapon then anything after is just break or downgrade. I like this game but the enhacing system needs a ratio change IMHO.

There will be some stones in Fiesta Store that reduce the fail rate / avoid downgrading - breaking your items.

It's true that the failure rate is higher than the rate for success.

I always imagined it like each spin you do, the game randomly assigns all the boxes in the circle-formation an attribute. Now, there are 4 things that can happen, only 1 of these is success; you can succeed, you can fail and nothing happens, you can fail and you downgrade, you can fail and you break item. This would make success a 1/4 chance, unless there were more "success boxes" and only like 1 failure box for each possible failing outcome.

I know that's probably not how it works at all, but it's how I thought of it. xD

At any rate, yes enhancing is hard, but if faced with a choice of too hard or too easy, I'd pick too hard any day. Too easy and it would be pointless.

Most annoying is that the breaking rate is higher than the success rate.
Here is what I have done so far (ok not much, I did more in CB but didn't kept track of it):
Magic Staff[3] -> magic staff[4]
Novice Pant[0] -> Broke
Magic Staff[0] -> Magic Staff[1] -> failure -> failure -> broke
Novice Shirt[0] -> Novice Shirt[1] -> failure -> broke
Roumen Staff[0] -> Roumen Staff[1] -> broke (I used lucky elrues here :( )
Magic Shirt[0] -> broke
Roumen Staff[0] -> failure (lucky elrue)
Wind Rune Wand[4] -> Wind Rune Wand[5] -> Wind Rune Wand [6] (belessed + lucky lix)

So, out of 14 attemps: 6 success, 4 failures, 5 breaking.
I'll post more later.

It is set up with high failure rate on purpose. It is a money sink and not everyone will have a +9 weapon simply because they want one.They are supposed to be rare and hard to obtain.Plan on spending lots of silver and breaking a lot of gear if you really must have one.

A word to the wise: "Do NOT try to enhance something you can't afford to lose(replace)"

I broke 2 lv20 xbows in cb 3xbows in ob, and then a lv20 hammer. I've decided enhancing hates me : /
