I love my archer but...

Because my favorite thing to do in this game is have fun in parties whil aoeing and such but I dont know if I should just make a mage if I am going to invest all this time into my archer and then have to solo.

Can someone please help me out here with some info or encouragement lol

What the hell is your problem? Would u seriously like to fight my archer, not trying to pick a fight, but ur attitude is HORRIBLE uve been going around threads and doing this its rather annoying.

ARCHERS ARE A GOOD CLASS

Dont listen to this kid, hes obviously never going to be good and has NO idea what hes talking about, kids that are totally ignorant to how good a class is makes the class look terrible no matter which it is.

As to the thread starter, trust me, once u get to a higher level parties really really like having an archer as a backup, they are very friendly and u can make lots of friends while talking/grinding :)
DoTs play major roles in holding agro at later levels as its aggression levels can even out hold tank's shout! :D (trust me, they have to use it ~3 times and 2 kicks to get stuff off me)

Archers arent given the credit they diserve, at level 5x with only one +9 item which isnt TOO outa the cost department I could pull FULL rooms in abyss! At level 51-60 it was fast leveling and very good for parting! Just keep up the work and eventually u will see how good archers are :)

Well, then they're dumb for hating you just because of your class. Show them how good you can solo and then we'll see who needs the party. :3

In my experience, I am able to get parties everyday. Just meet great people and you will get a good party. If you do not find a decent party, then solo. Soloing is boring sometimes, but the rewards are great. Mages are in their own class and have a different role.

Eric was one of my best archer friends he had such pride idk what the hec happened to him but it must have been horrible for him to give up on his archer like that. Idk what it was I tried to talk to him about it... he made me cry.

Umm ok I dont know what made you think that archers should do more damage than mages because then archers would have better def, hp and damage than mages, and mages have given up their low def and low hp for their high damage

Archers arent useless they are just more of a challange to level so I say keep shooting =P

dude dont give up archers are really cool.They get some weird lighty things at high lvs and my clerc asks archers to make him green cus it makes him look funny.Anyways archers are great at luring and ive been saved by archers lotsa times.If u r on bijou i would be glad to pt u just pm me on the forums and i will make a pt if u r ever online :D .Archers make friends cus they are mostly funny and they kick a s s bad in high lvs (ever seen revenge and salvation II theres some skills in there for archers). :) dont give up the meme dog is not as iresistable as it looks. The only thing i have a problem with on the archer front is the fact that they dont have any buff/debuff skills that make them more valuable to the party. I have a capped mage and naturally i have an exceedingly large amount of debuffs that are useful to the party and for defensive casts. The archers in my opinion need something such as single/multiple entangle or a type of skill that resembles this to make them more useful to a party. The damage is fine, the tanking ability is fine, everything just comes with time. For an Archer, the biggest improvements are recieved at 20, 51, 75. Mages are 20, 60, 67 (ignoring minor aoe improvements). Due to the level difference of the distributed skills, Archers need to become level 75 to shrink the gap of aoe damage between the mage and archer. Cooldowns on the Archer aoe are quite fast, especially if empowered.

So, add some party skills!

Archers are the only class that can accually talk while fighting. mainly because we have an auto attack. now i know that fighters and clerics can too but they both have important jobs...tank and heal. once mages try to talk they cant cast any spells so they seise to attack untill there done talking.


so if you can tell Archers are one of the best classes (despite the minor weakness) out there.


But thats just my opinion

Hmm Personally, You need to use whatever char you have more fun with, If your not having fun with a char, dont even try, game is here for fun

As far as some of you are going, archers are really good, so are mages, so are fighters, so are clerics.
They all have there purpose, and if a party doesnt let you in because your an archer move on, they can do what they like, and personally,
My favorite partys are 2 fighters 1 cleric 1 mage 1 archer.

Dont listen to what everyone says, they are all using there opinions.
There is no best class.
If there was a "best class" the game makers would change it.

Archers dont need any fixing at all.

If you feel your archer needs fixing, thats not the games fault, its your fault.

Because at 8x when mobs get huge increases in evasion our damage output thanks to aim is comparable to a mages. All a mage can do to really hit with is the ole ground dots... and lol those aren't as pwnage as they are normal now. Mages with decent dex in their builds can compete well here but the archers are catching up in the damage gadges and in many cases overwhelming and p@ssing. I know i'm one of the only people who build trains of 40 or so mobs for an aoe party out there. And I do so to feed those hungry mages and fighters who can't pull anywhere near what i can.

Though i'm meant for soloing the grind has lost importance atm for me and i party for socializing lately sometimes in br alot of times in lower lvl areas being helpful. This will continue until A.) my wife reaches 8x, or B.) there's more incentive in drops and gear to grind solo.

Bah on people that dis archers. They aren't really 'known' for anything I guess because they're pretty well rounded. Mages are great damage dealers, but they have sucky def. Fighters are either good at being a tank or a dd, otherwise people don't really want them because honestly, fighters are just as much a support class as clerics. Clerics can be good tanks, unfortunately [and why I don't play on my cleric anymore] all people ever want you to do is heal or buff and that just gets really annoying. Archers, however, are already pretty decent dds, and if you give them a tank build that's great for soloing. They have the advantage of long-range attacks without the squishiness of mages XD, so I say ARCHERS FTW! ^^

I think u've just lost hope because u see all those mages in ur level getting pts and doing awesome damages and bragging how much they crit and what not... But i tell u this, the true colors of an archer only comes out after lvl 51.... **Makes sure u have 5 skill points at least to empower CD on nature mist** With the instant cast and just 2.1 sec cd **after max cd** U can just aoe kite ur way to freedom and wealth....

Mages could never do that.... they have like huge cast times for inferno and nova... though it looks shiny.. but still they just pale in comparison to an archer at higher level.... I once had to help an enchanter who was lvl 68 or so and i was lvl 61 to do quests.... since i was aoe kiting.... Basically i just aoe kite the mobs in his direction and he nova's and inferno....

But he said it himself, mages can never aoe alone without support but archers do!!! Hoorah!!! Mages are too dependent... and Archers are free!!!! So why worrie about mages... Pfff.....

P.S : speed scrolls helps a lot while u aoe kite... and extra hp pots do come in handy too >.<
