Ever since the release of the Divorce feature, there have been quite a few threads asking questions, and many different answers. This thread will (hopefully!) help to answer some of those questions and clear the air about the whole divorce process and which divorce you should choose.

I'll do my best to keep this thread updated with questions asked and answered. So, if you have a question, please feel free to ask! If you know the answer to unanswered questions, go ahead and answer. ^^

If you spot anything that needs to be corrected/updated, please don't hesitate to let me know by either posting in this thread or sending me a PM. ^^

The Divorce Process: How to Get Divorced

Which Divorce is Right For My Situation?
There are two types of divorce: Uncontested and Collaborative.

Uncontested Divorce should be used if you suspect your spouse will not want to divorce you or your spouse's character has been deleted/banned. It will cost you about 750s. Despite what some people have been saying, uncontested divorce is not instant in all cases. In my case, it took a total of 10 days for the uncontested divorce to complete processing. This is because the character I was married to was deleted and therefore unable to respond/log in. It was three days for the divorce to become finalized, and then another seven days before I could accept any proposals.

Collaborative Divorce is cheaper and instant when both parties apply for a collaborative divorce. It will cost both parties about 250s each to get a Collaborative divorce. There is still a seven day cooldown period before you can accept any proposals.

What Happens When a Divorce Has Been Completed?
You will lose your Wedding Pet, Spouse Summon Skill and the Power of Love Buff.

Getting Divorced: Uncontested Divorce

1. + Make sure you have 750s in your inventory.
2. + Speak to Dreian Uriel in Elderine.
3. + Choose the option, "Apply for a Divorce"
4. + Choose Uncontested Divorce.
5. + You will see a system message acknowledging that the Divorce process has begun.
6. + If your spouse does not log in or respond to the Divorce Request for three days, you will be automatically divorced.
7. + If your divorce is refused, your money will be refunded and you will have to wait 7 days to reapply for forced divorce. If you have to apply for forced divorce a third time, you will be divorced even if your spouse refuses.
8. + If your spouse visits Dreian Uriel and also chooses "Uncontested Divorce" from the Divorce options, you will be immediately divorced.
9. + When your divorce has been completed, you will see a system message saying that the Spouse Summon skill and the Power of Love buff have been deleted.
10. + You will not be able to receive any proposals for seven days after your divorce has been completed.
11. + Once your marriage status no longer says "Divorced," you will be able to receive proposals again.

Getting Divorced: Collaborated Divorce

1. + Make sure you have at least 250s in your inventory.
2. 1. Speak to Dreian Uriel in Elderine.
3. 2. Choose the option, "Apply for a Divorce"
4. 3. Choose Collaborated Divorce.
5. + You will see a system message acknowledging that the Divorce process has begun. Your spouse will see a window informing them that you have filed for a Collaborated Divorce.
6. + Have your spouse speak to Dreian Uriel.
7. + Your spouse must follow steps one through three.
8. + As soon as your spouse clicks on "Collaborative Divorce," you will see a system message saying that the Spouse Summon skill and the Power of Love buff have been deleted.
9. + You will not be able to receive any proposals for seven days after your divorce has been completed.
10. + Once your marriage status no longer says "Divorced," you will be able to receive proposals again.

When the Divorce Process Goes Bad

Apparently, in addition to a lot of people not knowing how to get divorced, there are a lot of people who are having problems. I will try to help as much as I can, but please keep in mind that I am just a regular player like you. I can help you answer a few questions, but solutions to your problem will probably have to come from Outspark Support.

I also realize that the situation is frustrating for you, but the important thing is to remain calm. When you're calm, you think a lot more clearly. And you'll need to be thinking clearly so that you can answer questions.

Important Questions That You Need to Answer
+ Did you choose Uncontested (Forced) or Collaborative Divorce?
+ About how long ago did you apply for Divorce?
+ Is your spouse active?
+ What does your "Marital Status" say right now?
+ Are you receiving an Error Message? (Even one you can't read.)

Contacting Outspark Support
There are a lot of things that only Outspark themselves can fix. (As I've said, I'm just a regular player like you.) So sometimes contacting them is the only way to get your situation resolved.

Thankfully, they've recently redone their Help site and it's easier to get to the contact form. All you need to do now is go to this page and fill out the information.

Important Points to Remember When Using the Contact Form
+ In the Subject line, say something along the lines of "Problems Divorcing" or "Chose the Wrong Divorce Option." Something that sums up your problem in a few words.
+ Even if you're upset or angry, do not swear, threaten, type all in caps or berate Outspark staff when asking for help. It's just not a good way to get someone to help you.
+ Be as clear as you can about the problem you are having. If you're unsure of your English, or are not sure what to write, you can send me a PM answering the questions above. I'll try to help you write out your question, but please understand that I do work and may not be able to get back to you right away.
+ When filling out the rest of the form, make sure that under "Product Name" you select "Fiesta Online." For Category, select "Gameplay Issues."


Finding Love Again: Am I Ready?

So you divorced your once-beloved, and want to get married again. But alas! The proposal fails! When will this curse end?

The best way to tell when you're ready for marriage again is to check your character's marital status. When your character's marital status is blank, you're ready to marry again.

Thats odd, because it only cost me 1g. And when my husband filed for the collaborative, he keeps saying that i refused, even though i did not get the message. So i filed for the uncontested, saw my money drop by 1g, and nothing happened. So i had him choose uncontested as well, and the moment he did, the system message said the power of love and the summon skill was deleted.

I got my prices confused. xD

Where were you and what were you doing when he was trying for a collaborative divorce? O.o Uncontested didn't have any pop-up windows or anything like that for me, just a little message in the window where you see how much exp you get that said my divorce was processing.

I guess any divorce is instant if both parties file for the same one.
